We do read about Jesus in the OT, but after we see him in the NT.

Amen brother! Jesus is all over the old testament, even when Jesus dies on the cross he yells out the starting passage to Psalm 22 which is all about him. I watched a lot of this guy's videos and liked them, but once I heard him say we don't hear about Jesus in the old testament, I don't think I can watch his stuff anymore. Even in Genesis 1, when God makes man he says "let US make him in OUR image." Just something to think about: if God's claims and work through men in the Old Testament amounts to nothing and is unreliable, then the new testament means nothing. In other words, of God didn't work through men before Jesus, why would he only work through Jesus and the men after Jesus? Jesus even quotes the old Testament and claims to have come to "fufill" it. I mean it's just crazy to think that this guy really only thinks the NT is credible and not the OT. Just one solid look at the OT's prophecies, and then one solid look at our recorded history shows us that God saw and spoke the future through man.

As he focuses on the NT, I believe it is because it is more direct evidence, and the OT would be more indirect evidence. I believe the OT has many prophecies, and Christiological views that you can find in each book, yet to understand whatJesus did on the cross is to hear about His death for our sins,, burial, and resurrection. The early believers were saved by believing in a coming Messiah, but now we have the Messiah, and need to look back, not forward to see Him, and believe.

@@scottm4042 I see your point, and I'm not saying that his view on the NT is totally Null and void, but what I am saying is that he only has half the glory of God. Half the story. This means that whoever he ministers to on the street will only get half the story, and this will confuse them when they go to the NT and see not only Jesus's references to the OT, but also all the other disciples, especially Paul. This to me is creating a sticky situation when trying to bring people to the truth of Christ. That is not content I particularly want to participate in. My prayer, is that even though these people are only getting half the story from this man, that the seed will be planted and the full truth of God will be revealed to them.

People don't even have to know the rest of the NT, to be saved. Once a person has been born again, then they are free to search and learn as much as they can to grow in their relationship to God. At a secular level the bible is a book? When a person is devoted, faith is the belief ,then trust,in the belief, through the instruction of the written word ,is put into action ,so then theres faith and works ,is what unite the Creator with the creation. Develop a 24/7 relationship, in where blessings occur, gifts are received, as the gift of the Holy Spirit =understanding, knowledge and wisdom regarding spiritual salvation, a guide in our life that we remain on the narrow path. @@DerrickMrThomas I try to watch a lot of discourse on this topic and it truly is a balancing game. I was frustrated about the part I time stamped, but there were likely times I could've stamped for the students. I imagine that a lot of public arguments can be difficult as you have a live audience (who may jump in to argue), and may make up your peers, and you might make a mistake but not stop to acknowledge or acknowledge and lose momentum. I have had plenty of discussion and made plenty of arguments where an unanswered question or misunderstanding from one side of the other threw the whole thing off, so doing it in person must be even more challenging.

Hi Jacob, Cliffe is exactly right when he says you don't read about Jesus in the Old Testament. nowhere in the Old Testament is Jesus Christ's name mentioned. Now you can argue that different names are used, but how can you say with 100% certainty that it's Jesus they are referring to?, Cliffe is right, Jesus Christ is not mentioned in the Old Testament. Could it be that you are reading into the text something that you want to believe? The Jews did not believe Jesus Christ was the messiah.

@@godislove363 hey Jacob, I was just agreeing with Cliffe who said Jesus Christ isn't mentioned in the Old Testament, certainly you can make assumptions that some of the writers were talking about Jesus when they spoke about a Messiah, but you can't say with 100% certainty that it was beyond a shadow of a doubt that the author meant Jesus Christ. Remind me of the particular scripture which you think is the best evidence of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament.

@@bonnie43uk you're missing the point time here's a simplistic example for you there's a time when someone is describing someone or talking about them directly we are for example say you showed up at my house yesterday and I told a friend of mine hey Tom came over and we sat down and talked over politics and religion over some tea or something okay that's an example of a direct relation between the conversation and who you are vs. If I'm talking to someone who knows who you are and in the Bible people who read their Bible know what those verses are saying if it says Who You Are by description and by other terms just not your actual name then it's still talking about you so for example if they said oh your friend you always love to drink tea when he comes by and he always likes to wear that plaid shirt I see him in and he drives a Ford Mustang trash obviously I'm assuming you don't do most of those three things but maybe you do I don't know what to ask an example where they would know exactly who I'm talking about in the Old Testament in fact in the Old Testament Jesus has even been talking in some places you just don't realize it to him but the fact is in the Old Testament that uses many verses to describe talk about or a name Jesus Christ under other titles are names for describes who he is described when he'll be coming on this Earth Etc so a does 100% discuss Jesus Christ and talk about Jesus Christ it just not used that specific name member Jesus Christ is not his birth name he's not Jesus and then Christ as his last name camera stand if a that's not a surname your British I don't know what you call it but it's there a nickname I don't use that towards either but Jesus is Yeshua and the Christ means the anointed one so it's kind of like a nickname for him I hate using that phrase though but that's what it is so Jesus Christ is throughout the Old Testament both about the sacrificial system about what his work will be when he walks the Earth about him coming as a baby and numerous other places in about him being the creator of everything right there in Genesis so you have to understand but since you don't want to read the Bible never be the same if you write a mystery novel or if you read something else that has a lot of description of the character who's the main character of the story you might not know I'm still page 300 who the murderer is as far as their name goes but if you know that they committed the crime you know that they're wearing certain clothing you know that they walk a certain way or Lewis described like that in the book you know that they enjoy certain foods then you're going to say okay I don't know his name I am forgetting which person it is you have to talk about but I know this is the guy okay well that's a vague example but in the Bible people study scripture know exactly who Jesus Christ is and how he is the Old Testament and it's throughout the Old Testament.

Likely not as the Gospel of Thomas is a Gnostic Gospel like the Gospel of Mary, the Gospel of Judas, etc.

They were written hundred of years after the fact, im pretty sure. It would be like a new autobiography book being written by george Washington today.
