It was aired just after Obama was first elected to the Senate. Obama was elected President in the next Presidential election after this aired. Many of the medical mysteries in the series are based on diseases that look a lot like another disease, confusing the doctors and putting them on the wrong path of treatment, which ends up not helping (or even worse). The scary thing is that most of these cases depicted in the series are not fictional, but based on actual real-life cases. Actual cases where doctors were struggling with a confusing disease that threw them off, and they had hard time figuring out what it is. Do you know what's even scarier? It's impossible to know how many people die, or suffer life-long debilitating symptoms, because doctors can't figure out the actual disease that's causing the problems, and try ineffective (or even detrimental) treatments for the wrong disease.

The human body is a galaxy, and the possible permutations and combinations of things going wrong in that galaxy yields an infinite number of things that could go wrong. Tiny things we brush off to things that make us drop dead in minutes. And each galaxy is completely different. Imagine being the people who need to have the knowledge to piece together everything to come up with the right diagnosis, if they can at all. Scary mofos.

I had this happen to me. I was having trouble breathing and the first doc tells me it’s cos I am fat so I lose 5kg and my breathing continues to get worse and the doc keeps insisting that if I loose more weight I’ll get better. So I go find a new doc because it’s getting harder and harder to breath, new doc decides I have asthma. The ventalin helps for a while but breathing gets worse and I have to move for work so I see doc number 3 and he does a blood test and it comes back that my iron levels are really low so doc has me take this oil solution for a week and my breathing got heaps better. So in the end it took 3 doctors to diagnose severe iron deficiency.
@WarpRulez
@WarpRulez 3 жыл бұрын
@@TARDIS105 We would like to think that doctors are all-knowing living encyclopedias of medical knowledge, and that given a set of symptoms they immediately know what to suspect and what to test, and thus get quickly to the answer. In reality doctors are human too, and have a limited capacity at remembering every single illness and its corresponding possible symptoms and causes. They literally see like a thousand patients per year, with all kinds of varying symptoms. Some symptoms are much more common, and their cause is most often likewise always the same, so it's no wonder if a doctor quickly associates that symptom in a new patient with that cause. We would like to think that when you go to a doctor with such a generic symptom as "chronic shortness of breath", the doctor would immediately know to run the 10 most relevant tests to narrow down the reason. But doctors aren't computers and can't remember everything about everything, and immediately know what to do, unless it's their specialty and they have dealt with it a lot. There's of course also the issue that tests are not free, and running 10 tests for every patient can be quite expensive, time-consuming, and may potentially take away resources from other patients who would need them more.

Wouldn't really consider this a logical debate. House's strength in both logical debates and his usual destruction of other peoples characters for fun, usually lies in pointing out the hipocrisies in peoples' arguments since they usually lie about who and what they are, therefore their opinions do not match their actions, whereas in this case, the senator 's morals match the person that he displays himself as. That's why House seemed to show respect to him.

@@akshaynatu1084 He lacks most morals, he seeks the truth. Even epople he finds boring are ones he doesn't like or who serve no mystery that he can search about in. The only ones he seems to care about really, are his friends and family (not his father haha). He does have his moments where he cares for strangers, not only because its in his job but when he was in the Asylum he was nice to the other patients and also in the prison where he risked getting his parole revoked to save an inmate's life. But most of these can be tossed aside if you think it was believed he did it to find the truth.

"hipply" not "happily." Not trying to nitpick, but the distinction is huge in this context. And I agree with the candidate. Being a negative cynical realist has been culturally popularized for way too long. In reality, such a mindset is neither original nor productive. It's nothing more than "intelligent" people mocking their own depression.

Creators made sure to keep the reference to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s best-known character running throughout the series. Just like Holmes, House’s street address is 221B. Both men are written as gifted musicians: House plays piano, Holmes plays violin. And while brilliant, both characters struggle with addiction; House famously has his Vicodin habit while Holmes is a morphine and cocaine addict. Even side characters keep the references to Holmes going. Dr. James Wilson is a direct parallel to Holmes’ partner Dr. John Watson. Rebecca Adler, a patient in the pilot, is named after the main antagonist in the Sherlock Holmes novels. And at the end of season 2, House is shot by a man named Jack Moriarty. In the Holmes books, the detective’s arch-nemesis is criminal mastermind James Moriarty.👍

Because most celebrities are cult members that waste most of their money on black market items for life extension. Adrenochrome, blood infusions, etc. There are underground bunkers in some parts of the world, some literally the size of football stadiums, where humans are trafficked, farmed and harvested. Imagine yourself in that scenario, where they're about to drain your blood but first they're required to torture you and put the fear of death into you so your adrenaline starts pumping through your system as a way of enriching your blood, and then after that they drain your blood. There's nothing you can do to stop it. Pretty scary when you think about it. You're basically livestock at that point. Wealthy politicians and celebrities are just the most common partakers but it goes deeper than most people know. When people take adrenochrome they can get blood deposits that typically show up around one eye that looks just like a black eye. Hence the name "black eye club". People like Robert Downy jr., Brad Pitt, John Kerry, Adam Sandler, Charlie Rose, Ryan Gosling, George Bush, the Pope, the Royal Family have all been spotted with back eyes without any real explanation. Either someone's punching them, or something else is going on. Then there's the 'red shoe club' where they all wear the red shoes that are made out of humans. Then there's Epstein and his flight log being discovered and that whole fiasco. Have you ever wondered why Ellen Degeneres's set looks just like Epstein island? Maybe a coincidence, maybe not. Maybe she's a big fan. But I digress. When I watch movies and Tv shows I'm watching for the story and the characters, not for the actors. As a general rule of thumb I assume the actors and actresses in the movie are awful people in real life, not to be looked up to, and I just take the movie/show for what it is. Entertainment and nothing more. Celebrity worship is sick.

I take notice because everyone just talks about "the pretty people" but I starve for talent on the screen and so I enjoy it when I see it. I will never forget his Terminator 2 scene when he holds the dead man switch for the bomb long enough for the good guys to leave after he regrets creating sky net and then boom. He showed such agonizing pain in that scene I can still remember it. A strong command and control of emotions, great actor.

i feel the pain all too well at the end - i had extremely bad asthma when i was a kid. I know what the words nebulizer and slowbid means. Being a guy made it worse too. I still have breathing problems randomly creep up on me, but they are few and far between. Any time I get sick now, seems like it's always breathing related.
