The KTM 390 Adventure partied with the KTM 250 Duke and some platform sharing later, the KTM 250 Adventure was born. And now it's out and ready to play. It boasts the 250 Duke's 30PS engine in the 390 Adventure's taller, more rugged frame. Sounds like a recipe for a smashing motorcycle right? Shumi took the 250 Adventure for a ride to find out what to expect from the newest KTM on the market. To ensure that KTM India could price the 250 Adventure significantly lower than the 390, there has been de-speccing of the motorcycle though. The 250 Adventure does without traction control or the quickshifter and the replacement of the TFT screen with an LCD unit also removes Bluetooth from the list of features. But what is it like? Should you buy one? Here are the five things you need to know right now.

A great review! Only if KTM could get its quality control alright. I own the 390 Adventure and am being taken for an another Adventure since past 6 months. Faced the battery issues thrice after which the bike fails to crank. Once leaving me stranded on the road. Not to forget fork oils leaking. Not that I ride offroad trails, just our normal Mumbai roads (Though at times the roads can beat the trails for their quality). Inshort, a nightmarish experience! But yeah, Leaving that aside, the bike is excellent to ride on.

Hey @powerdrift will KTM bring their bigboys here? Like 790adv or a litre class adv? From what i know there is a wide gap between 500cc to 1000cc advs here (i know there is versys and vstrom). And quickly truimph is bringing 800 sport here to close that gap, if KTM bring 750 adv how it will compare?? Will they bring??

is it just me of the ktm gearbox(essentially bajaj if m not wrong) really needs to step up to the japanese? I owned an Fz16 before the ktm duke 250 so the different is felt quite a lot.

Yes the new 250Adventure from KTM is very good entry option to be have with the 390adventure. Even though its hasn't the features and power like 390 its still a rather nice package. Just like the Duke 250 the adventure 250 is very Sweet bike, it's engine is smooth & refined, its a fuel efficient, the way power delivered is not that scary as suppose to the 390. Its also a great city bike as well as a better highway tourer. Yes it has some short comings like the seat height could have been lowered, their is no spoke wheels. Overall the 250 adventure is a likable ADV bike. Thanks for the review guys.

Answer : it has the same engine ,wheel size,tyre,wheel base,length,ground clearance,fuel capacity ,body type as the KTM duke 390 adventure(agronomics)and the same engine displacement,maximum torque,stroke as the KTM duke 250(power)so it’s the combination of these two amazing bikes

KTM 250 Adv and KTM 390 Adv are tuned just like RC and DUKE Series which actually should make them as sports tourers instead of Adventure tourers which it seems like KTM had a serious misunderstanding between Adv tourer and Sports tourer .

I am not impressed with adventure 250. Those who are looking for a bigger than the duke while less than 390 adventure and is keen on owning just a ktm this might look good but when I look at it I feel that it falls well below Himalayan and the Xpulse also seems a very very good choice rather than this
