Giving Away FREE Mowers in a DANGEROUS Neighborhood

2 жыл бұрынInsanely overgrown edging and mowing at a random abandoned house that I found in the hood with the Lawn Care Juggernaut and Beck the Beast.
Since we were all out of town (Louisville, KY), we didn't have a mower to be able to cut the grass with. Luckily, there were two awesome guys running their mowing business a few houses down. We talked to them about what we were doing and asked if we could quickly use their mower to mow it down. They ended up letting us use it and we realized that it was very old and needed a LOT of work. The spindles were making loud clanking noises and the machine was in very bad condition.
These guys told us all about themselves and their stories and it was so cool to listen to. The first guy was a professional golden gloves boxer from 1988-2004. You can check out his boxing career here - boxrec.com/en/proboxer/16711. The other guy was his brother in law and they have been cutting lawns for a VERY long time together as a side job.
They told us that this was not a good area of town and they come here to help the elderly get their yard work done at a very affordable price.
Stay tuned for a return video in a few months when Kevin and I road trip back to Louisville to bring these guys their new mower and cut an overgrown lawn with them.

What happens to yards that are overgrown with poison ivy such as the backyard for this home? Does the homeowner have to call a specialist out? Do you spray it and if so, when it is dead is it no longer potent? I've seen several of your videos where you do not touch it (figuratively) and wonder what can be done about it. Love the vids...watched over 50 of them so far.

It means something big to the neighborhood, especially if people have the idea it’s dangerous. Transformation, one lawn and sidewalk uncovered, at a time. Enjoyed the chatting and hard work.

How does someone get rid of poison ivy like that if no one in lawncare will do it? There has to be a way.

@@lauraulnye6857 unfortunately, you’re correct. There are professionals who target those types of plants/vines. I’m not sure how much they charge considering it’s like a specialty thing. I work for a lawn care company (not the mowing or edging) and we don’t touch it either. Especially when it’s on the house or fence. Chemicals can stain the fence which I’m sure would be better than the ivy. Just do some research for who’s local. Good luck.

St Louis MO here 🤟 you arent lieing, some properties in st louis are bad. Be super careful and lock everything up or keep close eye on equipment. Theft is terrible, im sure its not just here though.

the world needs more of these 2 men in it ... my mom had a trailer in a trailer park and in her lease was that she had to keep her grass mowed around her tailer .. very small area... she was being taken for by some young kids that came down cut part of it (which she thought was all of it) and the next day they came back cut the other half and she had to pay them again ..same with snow shoveling ! thank you for taking care of the elderly !

I know there was a period about 4 months after this was shot that Juggernaut was back doing stuff with Spencer and he did mention that it would be several months and that he needed to go to Kansas to pick the mower up. I believe that was around the same time that Juggernaut found out his wife was pregnant and also when the landscaping turned crime scene incident happened.

I’m really glad the 3 of you went into this neighborhood and met the people who live there. It saddened me to hear it described as “the hood” and the viewer who’s mom wouldn’t let him come there yet, this is the same place you all met 2 men more than willing to let you use their equipment and a lady stoped to thank you for doing this for the community. All I’m trying to say is people fear what they don’t know or understand. Always be willing to discover new people, new cultures, new areas. ❤

I'm in the Endless Mountains region of Pennsylvania, I live in a valley with gorgeous mountain views all around me, got the Susquehanna river about a quarter mile away, great fishing and hunting here, lots of railroad history as well

I have later found out I have been in the "bad area of town" on a number of occasions. Funny thing is when I was there kids were playing, families were walking. businesses were open and traffic was flowing and the streets were clean. And I felt safe being there. Sometimes areas get a bad rap because of a few bad things happening. If those happened in rich area folks wouldn't think twice about going there.

Some of that edging, I could not see the walkway. It was like she was cutting turf. The clean up was so good. That building was lifted back to being a house. And the Salamander, so cool.

Blue tailed skink was under board on side of the house. They are completely harmless lizards and are gorgeous. They usually drop their tails off when captured....but do grow back. We adore them here in SC!

Love your work I just started my own lawn service to make ends meet to pay for dr bills I have liver problems and I try to get out and cut yardscause it’s hard to find work and I love servicing yard and doing this type of work it keeps me going
