He's got some big shoes to fill playing Maximus. Because Russell Crow, played that part phenomenally. He had that natural gladiator swagger and a fierce presents, he went into beast mode in everyone of his fighting scenes. It's my favorite movie that he's been in. I watch it atleast once or twice a year, it never gets old to me.

Chris Hemsworth is the perfect fit for the role of a new Gladiator! I'm excited to see it again in theaters. I just hope that it would surpass my expectations! Gladiator I is one of my favorite movies of all time and Sir. Russel Crowe's portrayal of the role was the best! He won an Oscar for that role in 2000.

The Hemsworth brothers are ugly and shouldn't be cast as Maximus. Is it Liam or Chris that plays Thor? I don't know, lol, but he reminds me of a caveman. And that other ugly ass fucking actor Tom Hardy shouldn't be cast in roles either. Russel Crowe was perfect as gladiator. Casting that blonde headed caveman prick will only ruin the movie. This has to be as good as the original. Gladiator is my favorite movie. I even used its story in an essay I wrote in school. To me, it's not just about good graphics and acting. The story line has to be satisfactory.

La película no debe estar todavía pq han cogido escenas de: Bárbaros, Gladiator (la primera parte), la serie Spartacus y la historia de Julio César , donde aparece Sila ( muy anterior al Emperador Cómodo. Además Sila era republicano, no existían todavía los emperadores).

Yes, Gladiator had to be one of the best moves ever! I love Ridley Scott ever since he directed Blade Runner. However, I'm at a loss as to how Maximum is alive again since he died in Gladiator I. Does anyone know the plot? The plot has to be STRONG and not just rely on theatrical effects. All the actors in G1 were excellent, at the top of their game. Chris Hemsworth looks to be an ideal Maximus. One of the best scenes of G1 was the opening scene with all the Barbarians and the Romans getting set up for the battle. You knew immediately that the film was going to be epic. Amazing! Here's hoping G2 will be as good.

I agree with some on here. I hope they really have made Gladiator 2 to compliment Gladiator. Gladiator was superbly made and the acting was excellent. Gladiator is one of my top 10 movies ever made. Looking forward to seeing Gladiator 2. The battle scene in the trailer. Looked like a battle, where the Romans got their asses waxed. I wish I could remember the name of the battle. It wasn't a good day for the Romans.

Looks like the battle of Teutoburg Forest, but that was in 9AD, so I don't know how that fits with the timeline.

@@mrdeliberate5175 it doesn't fit at all. Teutoburg Forest was during the time of Augustus, the First Emperor of Rome. Gladiator takes place during the reign of Marcus Aurelius, which was over a century later. Pretty sure this isn't a real trailer, but if it is...that scene could just be another battle against Gauls or one of the Brittanic tribes or something similar.

Yeah I hope they don't have cheesy slow motion cut scenes and modern 'rock ish' music like in this trailer. Such poor taste. Like the focus seems to be just to sensationalise down to a caricature, almost comical, rather than on meaning. It's like having a beautiful Michelin main course and a McDonald's ice cream for dessert.

There are some films that just need to stand alone. Gladiator and Braveheart are two. It's like Michelangelo coming back to the Sistine Chapel years later and revising what is perfect. Some stories need ONE statement and a period. Anything after pales in comparison and weakens the original argument. While I don't think a sequel wil tarnish the original here, it will be a hollow echo. That movie was a pure masterpiece. There is no more to say to the story. It stands as one of the best movies EVER written, directed, acted, produced.

Well, you can kiss it goodbye then. Because Gaius Marius Maximus lived in the period ~157-86 BC. And the scene with the flaming wheels and the German barbarian attack likely reflects the Teutoberger Walde battle in which Quintilius Varus managed to destroy three legions, six auxiliary cohorts and about five squadrons of cavalry at the hands of the Angrivarii, Bructeri and Cherusci tribes. Which happened in 9AD. If so, the sister of Commodus, his 'son' who somehow looks like Maximus and the old senator fellow would be long in their graves as well.

Hope, u know that Scott was back on board to direct Gladiator 2 in November 2018, working from a script by Peter Craig (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Batman). But Russell Crowe Straight Out Rejected Nick Cave’s Super Controversial ‘Gladiator 2’ Script. In an interview with Empire, Scott confirmed that he will be working on his highly anticipated sequel to Gladiator. But, for this to happen in practice, as of now, however, no screenwriter has been changed for the officially confirmed sequel project. So we have Nick Cave, as scriptwriter, and Spencer Treat Clark with Chris Hemsworth as stars. What do we expect better than “Gladiator”? Or it’s impossible? Who hasn’t wondered how deep this sequel would impress our imagination after "Gladiador" came out 2000?

People always talk about the action scenes in Gladiator but for me as well as the soundtrack from Hans Zimmer, it was also the performances from the classical actors.

Buen CGI para poner la cara de Chris Hemsworth sobre el rostro de Russel Craw, escogieron buenas escenas de varias peliculas, buena edicion. Chris Hemsworth anuncio que se retira de la actuacion por problemas de salud serios, por lo tanto no hara peliculas por un buen tiempo. He escuchado que si habra una segunda parte de Gladiador, eso lo dijo Russel Craw pero no sera Hemsworth el protagonista, aun no saben quien sera, y se estan viendo varios guiones, asi que no se sabe todavia la historia. Una de las mejores peliculas epicas, mi favorita junto con Troya. Y si quiero ver una segunda parte, o mas bien una precuela, seria interesante.

Y la gente creyéndose semejante fake🤦🏻. Es cierto que se habló del proyecto de hacer Gladiator II...pero estás imágenes son como bien dices un batiburrillo de imágenes cgi, otras pelis e incluso de documental de history Channel. Que la gente caiga con semejante cutrez de montaje....tiene delito.

@@franperez1450 Si, seria genial una segunda parte, o la historia de cuando Maximus era soldado y se enamoró de la hija de Marco aurelio, y que el niño que ella tuvo realmente sea de el. Seria fabuloso que se hiciera la historia de el cuando joven. Pero en fin, ojala se logre hacerla.

I read recently that the producers of the "Gladiator " said , " We can bring him back " . They know Russel Crowe is perfect for the role and will get greater results , like Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and Robert Downey Junior is Ironman. Noone can replace these Characters.
