This is disgraceful. I'm going to side with what Scorpio said. She was given a handicap advantage and she still wanted to gain more. She cheated the gladiator and the other contestant of a fair match. Yes, she didn't cheat as she followed the rules but because of what she did the rules had to be changed. Just so everyone knows, in the 2023 Gladiators series, This issue was brought up again (Mainly in jest) for the audiences entertainment but it goes to show that if you shame yourself into a win, it's not a win when the whole world knows you took an unfair advantage to get that win. It's even worse if people are still talking about it 30 or more years later.

You would've thought that the referees and production team would've had the rule about GREASING THEIR LEGS & HAVE THEIR SHOES UN-TIED in place before the hosted their very first show, Nicola Bawden did get away with murder so to speak on this occasion, although in my opinion it wouldn't have made a big difference as to who qualified for the Semi-Finals of 1992 Gladiators so Nicola was still a rightful Semi-Finalist at that point even if the 5 POINTS would've been removed, two reasons why I think this: 1 her opponent Vivian made a right mess of the travelator allowing Nicola to overtake and Win the Heat & 2 because she would've still had enough POINTS to qualify for 3rd Place on the Semi-Final Leader-Board.

I agree with scorpio caz win or not she should get disqualified for cheating how are the gladiators surpose to have a grip if the competitors grease their legs
