A commonwealth games Heptathalete, a pole vaulting champion a fitness and aerobics instructor an interschools high jump champion, a gymnast with 22 gold medals a national gymnast squad member, a rugby player, a London firefighter, a kickboxing champion and a man who played squash for Britain that's what I loved about the originals is that they were actual athletes not just underwear models like the revamped gladiators and they didn't dress like something from a BDSM catalogue

Its pretty shite how you can move from the family sitting together in the evening watching stuff like this on TV. Now we have the "im a celebrity" shite we have now. As as wee boy this inspired me in all the right ways, im sure im not alone.

+Roy Hillis It's a true, sad state of affairs today that the media convinces every other young person that they want to be famous, rich or both. Gladiators wasn't about that. The show had a heart of gold.

We men recognise and appreciate a good body when we see one and I'm not ashamed to say when I was younger, i loved this show. And this line of female gladiators were perfect scores of 10 every time.

I always wanted to be as big a Warrior when i was 13 and now I am in weight hight and size. A few years ago I met him at a bodybuilding competition. He was 20 years older but the man is still deep in his chest and back. I have a awsome photo of us shaking hands.

Superb music soundtrack, very underrated, big part in making this programme the success it was! unlike today they spent a decent amount of money on the whole production, including the music which makes it stand out 👍🏻👏

The reason why old gladiators worked so much better than the new one is if you listen to the stats of these gladiators they are proper athletes and not just a bunch of pretty people in Lycra these people have completed for their country have competitive titles are are the sheer strength and show of competition look at Sara he worked as a fire fighter as well as doing gladiators from start to finish what a legend!!

Nightshade from what I can remember was trained by Anderson the ref, and the commentators right the most challenging sport in womens athletics is heptathlon its insane how fit you must be to compete doing that and good on her!

The year is 2020. Spotted Eunice Huthart on the credits of the new Witches film and came here to show my daughter what it was about. Not sure what baffled her more. The fact millions of people watched this every week or that there were only four tv channels!

These Gladiators were superiour to the new ones. They were all respectful to the contenders (except Wolf lol).They were more about the games than acting out like the new ones. John Anderson was also the perfect ref

One of the most inspiring things on television, Gladiators in the 90s. As a guy you both wanted to be one of the male gladiators and be with the female gladiators (well specifically Jet lol) and you also aspired to be a fair champion who could shake hands with a contender after beating or being beaten by him. I'm sure it was just the same for the girls watching Gladiators. And Wolf was hilarious

Wolf was what they call in wrestling, a "Heel". A scripted bad guy for the audience to boo and hiss at. Wolf had the act down to a tee as he knew how to play to the audience and mess with the contenders to get the crowd going. Great performer.

Shadow, Nightshade and Wolf. My all time favorite Gladiators. Zodiac I met at a charity event in 1994. I was 10. Jet and Lightening I had a crush on. They were the sexiest of the lot. Brings back memories. The new school Gladiators can't hold a candle to this line up.

I was about 5 back then, best memories of my life I like remember cycling back from the english corner shop (rare now days) with my stabilisers just getting home in time to watch gladiators. It almost brings a tear back to my eye and I am a grown man. I remember when I was a little boy in the early-mid 90s there was still a scrap of saturday night TV left. CASUALTY! (That scared me BIG time) BLOBBY! YOU BET! BLIND DATE oooh and when was that BIG BREAK? take me back

My favourite Male Gladiators from back in the day were: Saracen, Cobra, Rhino and Warrior. Favourite Female Gladiators were: Lightning, Jet, Vogue & Rio. Rio was stunning.

Scorpio was my fave when I was like 6/7 years old. Wolf used to actually terrify me so much. He used to run past the audience and get booed a lot as they chanted 'who's afraid of the big bad wolf?' and I always used to think he would pluck some kid out of the audience and beat the hell out of them. My imagination did wonderful things when I was a kid! One question: Why does no-one dig Falcon's mullet......it is AMAZING!!!! Hahaha jk

Richard Hurr I remember we attended during the summer in the school holidays one afternoon at the nia in Birmingham and they filmed twice a day (when we left at around 5.00pm they had another show right away afterwards which must have been pretty intense for the Gladiators). In between events they had a compere guy on getting the kids up to dance with the cheerleaders, taking part in mini challenges and just generally hyping folks up. From what I recall the famous theme played when they came out at the beginning (it was about 24 years ago so some specifics are fuzzy lol). It was a great day out!
