legends like her, dont fall out of the sky. I have a different spin on how awesome she and her buddy Dionne, are. Think about ALL THE CRAP that the music industry threw at them...two black women just trying to 'make a way out of no way', because they knew they had this gift called 'a voice'. All they wanted to do was sing. But they couldnt escape the racism and the misogyny of the 50 and 60s...and yet, they pushed all of that out of the way thru tears, pain and extremely hard work, and made themselves into two of the greatest performers, the Word ever saw. .
