So refreshing to hear a lady speak about the ways women should be carrying themselves. This is how I was raised, and I have always been respected. My husband complimented me so much about how I carried myself when we started dating. He told me on our first date that he was going to marry me, and here we are going on 10 years of marriage, and 15 years of loving each other. You don't have to give or show a man everything you have when you first meet him. Make him ponder over you, desire to be around you, think about your smile while he's at work, etc. The right man will happily wait until you are ready to be intimate with him. He will adore you even more for having morals and values. This is also what I teach my son to look for in a woman.

Yes! I believe the Maya Angelou quote, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." No one is perfect, but there are people out there who want permanent grace for their red-flag traits and are not working on changing them. Women must stop being rehabilitation centres for broken men who do not wish to fix/heal themselves. No, I did not say men because most of the time, it is women I see holding onto dead relationships that are draining them (no, that doesn't mean men don't, but odds are a woman will stay and try to hold onto good memories)

Yes Toya I totally agree. If i have to keep expressing the same thing over and over to you and you not doing anything to fix it then I have to go. Exactly one of the biggest reasons I walked away from my marriage. I gave it all I could so there was no regrets either.

I LITERALLY COULD NOT AGREE MORE, Toya. I’m 30, but I fully believe and agree with everything you said….and I get a lot of push back when I try to tell people around my age these same exact things. These “men” are just terrible and want to be treated like women, and women are constantly being loose and giving men access to things they never earned just because he put a heart eyes emoji on a comment or something. This is her POV, and I respect her right to express it. I agree with some things and disagree with others. I have sons and a daughter. I taught them all about being respectful, commanding respect, carrying themselves with class in both their actions and appearance, love who loves and respects them, be financially responsible, choose your equal, etc. I think everyone represents the best version of themselves in the beginning. People with a known past can sometimes learn from their mistakes and change, and some people will still view them the same. Some people have a reputation for being kind and respectful, and people will continue to see them that way. At the end of the day, we can teach our children, but they will decide for themselves how to shape their own family that they build, including the spouse they choose. I think you have to have some in your friend circle who think differently from you to prevent blind spots. Sometimes. you don't know what you don't know. Respect your POV, but also respect those who see things differently.

I'll be 55 on November 1st! Happy birthday fellow Scorpio! I have two sons (they are 20 and 22) and I have always taught them to respect everyone, especially themselves and women. I also believe that women are the prize. The bible says, "He who finds a wife, finds a good thing" and that's simply saying women are the prize and men who find the prize (a wife) will be favored. I feel so bad for this generation. It seems like they don't really value marriage anymore. I pray that my sons find wives before they have children.

Toya, you are most definitely on point, when I was your age I was preaching the same things to young women. I hope they hear ya...Please do me 1 favor? that nice breakfast looked so healthy until you shook the salt, please put that shaker down. People stayed on me about it and now that I'm in my 50's I'm paying for it. I began working on being more aware of my salt intake in my 40's, but it was too late. I am now on low dose of high blood pressure pills. The great thing is I can get away with not taking them all of the time because of my diet awareness, but I haven't figured out a way to not take them at all. I don't like man made medicines, but I did it to myself because I needed that Flavor. Much love Sista🙏🏽🙌🏽
