Wheel and tires make all the difference out at Glamis Sand dunes! How wide is too wide? What size fits under the Can Am Maverick R tall knuckle? We answer all these questions! I will tell you what, this new Can Am is quickly becoming my favorite sand car. Packard paddles are amazing!

My buddy just picked one of these up, and on dirt tires he was beating stock RZR Turbos, RZR Pro R’s, and a modified X3, which all of those cars had paddles. These Maverick R’s are crazy!

Good vid, thanks. Chad's wheel offset gives a lot of positive scrub radius, but as Justin (Shock Therapy) says, you can get away with that scrub in the dunes, so I wouldn't worry about it. I'm guessing Chad's car did just fine plus it looks wicked!

It’s hard for cameras to keep up to get that footage lol jk No but really drone footage doesn’t turn out very good when you go fast it sucks but it gets choppy and twitchy

Yo that was us with the rzr’s😂😂 I was in the pro R and I was struggling hard so I bit the bullet and bought paddles I’ll be ready for next time😂😂

The praying mantis was designed to reduce scrub. Even with the tire not centered, it's still inside the wheel by a whole lot more than anything but the Pro R with an X Travel kit.

What is the offset on the Fuel runner sand wheel...? front wheel = 15x8 with a 19mm BS Rear wheel = 15x10 with a 43mm BS Are these the same as you got..?

The trailer setup on a 90” wide car has got to be insane. Do people roll it out there to the dunes on regular tires and then swap it out once they arrive? How’s that work, I’ve never been to the dunes but going this spring.

Our wedge trailer is wide enough we put sand cars on it But some swap wheels when they get there if they have too

It depends on your priorities. The Mav R is fastest in the desert, fastest in the dunes. Pro R is a much better car with more features, and more value for the money, but you still have a belt. For me, the fastest car, with 7 speed transmission is the one for me. I’m disappointed with CanAm for not having competitive amenities that you get with the Pro R, namely The Pro R shocks and springs are better, Pro R comes with a class leading infotainment system with Ride Command, Pro R comes with a stereo, Pro R has better driving position, and better seats, better roof, better cage, better dash for Comms, the list goes on… CanAm is just a bare bones fast car!

Thank you Chad very informative. I currently own a x3 stage 3 but it’s a rattle can out of the box. I like that it’s fast but I’m leaning towards the pro r for family rides that are not always hauling ass . This is great information thanks man 👊🏼

No for the El Jefe in the dunes. It’s too heavy and has too many built in safety features to make it fun in the Dunes.

How do these new cars get on trailers? I have a 72" wide machine, and in my 24' enclosed trailer, i have to aim that car perfectly and only end up with a couple inches on each side, between the wheel wells. I think im over 90" between the wheel wells, but its always way tighter than you expect
