The kind of aloof denial and stubbornness. My mum has it, she's from Coatbridge anyone who questions her motives is shouted down and is the prick for asking. A form of denial, I'm not as bigger cnnt as you mentality. Does my nut in.

Looking back to that time in Scotland and Ireland and seeing those bingo halls packed. It shows to me the deprivation and poverty previlent in both societies. Thousands trying to drag themselves out of poverty and depression by winning something worthwhile at the bingo and some did but most were stuck in the trap.
@sergez6172 Жыл бұрын
big time its a dying breed strangely hard to find nowadays, I feel out of sync with my generation and i work with alot of older people who came out the other side of these times and they are so grateful for the small things and sense of security they have now unlike alot of other people who are depressed with perfectly good life's (from my perspective, coming out of Ireland)Glasgow really reminds me of Dublin

Gambling. I've never found the attraction. It's an absolute suckers game. I know guys who gamble on apps daily, play slots online etc You'll maybe hear them the odd time shout about a few hundred quid win, but more often than not they're winning back less than all the previous weeks they've lost. There's a reason why gaming companies make huge profits. It's also usually the poorest who are caught up in the cycle of gambling. Betting shops and off licences dominate in poor areas. If its going to be legal. I would regulate it even more than it is and tax the gaming companies to the hilt to help pay for the devastation it creates. Personally I'd rather see back of it but that would only push it underground. Anyone who doesn't think that gambling disproportionately harms the poor are deluded.
@aidanlynn Жыл бұрын
Don’t know why anybody would gamble electronicly anyway, it’s programmed to not pay out 😂
@tonyb7616 жыл бұрын
its a dated video but these guys are for real not just actors? Anyone ever known people in this position?
@gearoftones85853 жыл бұрын
What these guys were too thick to realise was that a loan shark doesn't want you to pay your debt back in full. It's way better to just keep juicing the interest whilst the principle debt still remains in place. Credit card companies essentially do exactly the same thing with the "minimum payment"

I like how he explains that borrowing money for drink isnt a good idea but borrowing for bingo…. To get alot o drink is a good idea. You e argue with his logic 😂. There was loads of people like this around when i was a kid. The two bob mob people called them as they were always bumming people for spare change. Poor guys. Just because they were alcoholics didn’t automatically make them bad people. Thsnkfully theres not as many of them around these days. I think thats only because they cant drink alcohol outside anymore.

I once pulled up a guy I knew that loaned money to my best mates mum. He wasnt like some of the nasty pieces of shit but a money lender none the less. Told him he was worse than the provvy. You should of seen how offended he was. Went into an in depth explanation of his charges and why he was much better than them. Turned out his rates were F%all in comparison. Provvy, paydayloans etc pray on the weakest of society and have killed more people than even the nastiest of moneylenders.
