In today's video, I will be testing Red Gold (MBG031) by Coyote Clay & Color across 11 different clay bodies. I will also be testing this glaze on 6 different thrown pots across both smooth and textured surfaces. This is a really wonderful glaze once you know the ins and outs of working with it. Interesting you were having that Red Gold craze. The time I used it it shivered. Completely different clay bodies of course. It is such a lovely glaze but very persnickity about clay bodies. I think that Coyote keeps a list of known poor choices of clays for this glaze.

It's a great glaze on the right clay! Very runny though, best with one coat for me on most cases

Thanks for watching! The brush is called a "hake brush". They are made of bamboo and sheep or goat hair. They are really great for glaze. Sometimes the hairs come out, but they burn off easy in the kiln.
