This is a start to finish video of the window glazing process! These are my techniques that I have developed over the last 20 years. If you have any questions, comments, disputes, or suggestions... feel free to let me know 😁
Tried to fit as much as I could into one video, so that you don’t have to watch 20 different videos to understand the process
This is using DAP 1012 for metal windows. I would prefer, and recommend the Sarco Dualglaze! But I didn’t get the right to chose!

Really appreciate that! You hit the nail on the head with this one. I have learned patience over the years dealing with training, and having my own children. I’ve learned that spending time to help someone understand something, is saving time and money in the future. When you treat people with respect, and they are wanting to learn, they will catch on much faster. And that’s in everyone’s interest 👍 Mess ups are going to take place. But you gotta break an egg to make an omelette. We just do our best to not repeat those mistakes, and move forward.

Any other people that have channels that aim to teach take notes. This is what us who want to learn something want to see. He told us what is what, showed us what we need without lingering on the inconsequential, did the thing at or close to speed and fluently explained it as he went. Too many people linger on things that are unimportant and talk all around the subject or start the process at a point that misses the setup. This video got it right👍. A good teacher goes from the ground up without getting bogged down in the middle

One more Croatian watched this as I wanted to keep our old wooden window frames that need glazing process. Ours have small nails that are keeping glass affixed to the frame and that’s the “obstacle” you mentioned in your video. PS. Welcome to visit Croatia, island of Hvar anytime 😊

Excellent tutorial! I just finished glazing a small window using this tutorial and realized it's hard to get my hands on the whiting powder.. but then realized that Tums (the antacid) is the same thing. So I crushed up about 10 tabs with a coffee Grinder and it work great!

The best youtube video on window glazing. I especially like the fact that you are doing all this with the window in place. Most videos have someone in a workshop with the window lying flat on a table. Who wants to remove the whole window sash just to replace a piece of broken glass?

It’s funny you mentioned that! I decided to make this video, for that very reason. A lot of those videos are from people who restore windows for a living, so it’s a bit of a different procedure. But I couldn’t find very much on glazing windows in place. Glad to be able to help people who want to do it themselves. One you get the feel for it, it’s kind of relaxing! But the first couple windows can be extremely frustrating without a few pointers👍

I am sure that your years of experience can't help but make this process seem far easier than it is. My few attempts to do this to date demonstrated most every pitfall you mentioned but your helpful hints at each step now make even more sense to me, and the calcium carbonate suggestion, wow! sheesh! I wish I could make it look this easy. I have original 18 panel French windows in my 75 yo home. They are beautiful but may glazing jobs over the years have been a bit janky. This was helpful for my future work. Thanks.

👍 The great news is, they all get easier from here on out, if you stick with it!! I tried to quit 3 times during my first window!😂

Thank you!!! I love the look of those old bay windows. It’s a little awkward glazing, when you haven’t done it in a while. But Once you get a little ways into it, it seems to come back like magic almost . Best of luck on your project 👍
