agenttheater5 there’s a contradicting fact, because here they say she gets it from her mom, but in the first season, she says she got it because her brother pushed her into a cow pie when she was like 5 and she hasn’t gotten over that since. But I guess to be fair, she could have been like 3 or 4 in that flashback.

agenttheater5 it could be that all of the reasons are mixed, if I remember correctly she mention her incident with her brother before going to a therapist, maybe she got OCD but her parents and the incident just took her problem to an even deeper issue

In episode 1x02 Showmance, Emma had explained the origin her OCDs, telling she had visited a dairy milk farm, how her brother had pushed her in a tub full of milk and how she had to keep cleaning herself because she felt like she couldn't get rid of all that milk. Apparently the new writers team of season 3 forgot that story. :-)

Callie I think she mentioned the incident with her brother before she went to therapy and she used to simplify her OCD so it could be that she mention the incident becauseat the time she didn’t realize how deep the situaciones was

That incident and her parents could both contribute to her OCD and the incident with her parents could have happened before the dairy farm incident. The way her parents lived and treated her could have defiantly took a mental toll on Emma.

Ok but everything Will said made me happy. I have OCD and people at school have called me retarded, psychotic, crazy, a freak, and more because of my OCD. So when Will said that it made me feel good because it shows that some people do care.

Too much love ! I'm going to throw little hearts up ! Seriously, Will has got it all, he even stands up to Emma's parents only because they are really mean to her ! See ? He's the perfect husband ! One more thing : recessive genes don't disappear through time, that's a common preconception. If so, blues eyes, which also are a recessive gene, would have been gone a long time ago.

I know everyone thinks that this was a stupid way to handle discrimination but I think it was an amazing way to comentate on it. Like the subtle way they slip in "amigo" with horrible pronunciation (and it was a female waitress so the proper term would be "amiga") and then start to clean their glasses in the restaurant.

I despise Will since I think he's such a massive creep and a shitty person but this scene made me hate him slightly less. I have ADHD and OCD and my parents were really similar to her growing up except for the racist part. They made me feel like i was a freak by treating me like a 5 year old and calling me "nicknames" that they thought were cute and funny but made me feel like shit. Proud of Will for standing up for Emma in this scene.

Everyone is praising Will for standing up for Emma to her parents when they were being mean to her. And it not that he didn't trust her, he was starting to get insecure and think that Emma was ashamed of him. Also, before this scene Emma did try to lie and tell Will her parents were dead and refused to tell him why she did not want them around. So I guess they were both kind of in the wrong.

According to a lot of DNA studies, Northern Germans are similar genetically to Scandinavians, and the countries have had a lot of linguistic and cultural exchanges. This might explain it.

It's a subtle nod to the argument the Nazis used to explain their so-called supremacy. They claimed to be descended directly from vikings. It's one of those things that can easily be overlooked because there are certainly Germans that have viking heritage but it definitely is racist.

My Grandpa is a red head so I have that gene in me but I’m brunette. Also I have OCD just like Emma and it all started when someone told me that I could get sick if I didn’t wash my hands and I just never stopped after that.
