artist 252 it’s ok lmao, I try to pretend that that plot line ever existed, and I will never refer to her as a he, not because I’m transphobic, but because that was a shitty contradicting storyline. They executed uniques trans story so much better, because she started out as trans, unlike beiste was upset about being manly and came to the realization that it’s ok to be a masculine woman

While it maybe wasn’t the best song choice-I do kinda disagree with the last lady speaking. I don’t fully disagree-don’t get me wrong-this song wasn’t the best choice But the poppin gum was referencing that her husband was lazy and not a good guy. And the song itself is a great song. It can be a song about leaving an abusive relationship. Just not this specific stage in that relationship. It’s more of a-when it’s over type song, or a “he should be scared of me” Song. Basically-I see where the girls are coming from-I dont fully agree with the situational standpoint-but I do understand why they did this song

It's not fitting on the theme, but there was a woman (at least in the movie version, idk about all the live ones) who was actually innocent, but couldn't plead her case because she couldn't speak any English. She was the only one convicted of her crime, even though she didn't commit the murder. All the other murdereresses of the cook county jail got away with what they did and were eventually released. It's not a song about female empowerment, but rather about the unfairness of the judicial system of the time. My point here is that not all of the women were crazy murdering their husbands for popping gum.
