A young boy with actual talent...Jeez why can't we have this nowadays. He's better than many artists young and old Now, at the age of fifteen!

PURE TALENT at its BEST! No telling what he had endured as a CHILD, dealing with the TOTALLY CORRUPT Music Industry; that led him to drugs. God Rest His Soul. ~Add Love!™💜

No lip-synch here. Frankie was the real deal, just pure and raw talent. So what if his voice had changed? All he needed was a new record with his adult voice. He didn't have to die so young. So sad.
@HypnoticHollywood

***** He also had a great voice as an adult, check out his song 'Sea Breeze'.
@Greyareas27
@Greyareas27 8 жыл бұрын
Lip-synch did not become the norm on TV because some artists may or may not have been "true" talents. It was done because it was cheaper to produce the show that way and also because fans wanted it to sound like the record they had at home.
@lozleo
@lozleo 8 жыл бұрын
My comment was obviously aimed at today's "artists" who lip-sync even in so called "live" concerts. Happens quite often.
@Greyareas27

***** I accept your comment and agree with you. Except for the word, "obviously". You know exactly what you were referring to. It's not necessarily "obvious" to everyone else.
@lozleo
@lozleo 8 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily everyone else, but if you're also talking about lip-sync and the reasons for it in 2016, it should have been obvious.

But yeah-- Frankie was Michael (J) before. And he WAS SMOOOOTTTHHH with it! :) What was he?? Fifteen at the time?!!!! Don't make um like that anymore FO SHO! :)

jammingalways lol...well MJ came into the world in 58.......Frankie always reminded me of a young Jackie Wilson....great stage presence and dance moves and a powerful tenor! We had a lot of talent from the 30's even up to now...many legacy's in American music but like you express, every now and then someone comes along that is just special and authentically themselves and Mr. Lymon is definitely in that class so I feel you. He is incomparable. You hear that voice and you know it's him. Nah, they don't make them like they used to......
@jammingalways
@jammingalways 9 жыл бұрын
ccleroy1234 Aweee.... Jackie Wilson... you taking me back! :) It really is something how the industry can take such talents and rip them apart. It's also difficult for me to find a comparison from yester-year to today's "acts" though. Can't think of anyone with such showmanship (but then again-- I stopped listening to radio/music back in 2001). :)

jammingalways same here!!! You are right...there is no comparison to the days of yester year which is incredibly sad but thank goodness what we have will never die....good music stands the test of time.....listening to Nina Simone right now as we speak....I adore her....

We were kids when we first heard Frankie. NYC was in love with this voice and talent. Tried to get to every performance and what a performer he was. The movie sucked beyond belief. It highlighted 3 women with issues instead of the tremendous talent of Frankie Lymon. He succumbed to drugs like sooooo many others did. Some survived many did not. But his music and the joy he gave to generations is what he will always be remembered for. RIP Frankie, thanks for the music.
@mzl9292
@mzl9292 9 жыл бұрын
3 women with issues?? Frankie was the one with the issues lol he had great music & talent, yes. But he was a drug addict who had 3 different wives at the same time! Thats so messed up and hurtful to do to women who loved him & were devoted to their ONE husband. And his drug issues ultimately killed him, so i think its safe to say the movie was accurate in its portrayal. It did show some of his talent as well.
@Thacebenbrie3
@Thacebenbrie3 9 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, love & devotion -- the fairy tale, do you know this to be fact? Members of the group were close to my family, I had an aunt who lived around the corner from him - so as kids we would see them in the neighborhood or at talent shows before they became big. Frankie, like others who came before him and sooo many afterwards had drug issues. It was a known fact. Marry a man you know nothing about and not be aware of his drug addiction - especially heroin - who does that? Unless somebody is focused on what they can get, and willing to ignore the obvious. None of those women helped him with his career. Only one had any talent. But... Nowhere in the movie, nor was there ever any indication that someone . . . anyone was trying to help get him clean. My opinion, he was tremendously talented and I will always remember him as just that. Judge not.
@ladylo9239
@ladylo9239 9 жыл бұрын
Sooo the women are at fault because they didnt investigate him enough to know he already had 2 wives and was on drugs.... But if all the women wanted was his money, why did he marry them? Why not find a woman who'd really love him... Maybe she'd have helped him get off drugs... So Frankie takes NONE of the blame or responsibility for those actions because u saw him a few times growing up... Hmm ok. The fact remains, his poor decisions ultimately killed him.
@Thacebenbrie3
@Thacebenbrie3 9 жыл бұрын
Bottom line is, Frankie died almost 50 years ago, so why are you passing judgement on a dead man? You know nothing beyond a movie. Get over yourself and focus on your own life.

+Nathan “Reetin” Spruth Although, you are 100% correct, it begs to establish the context. Show business in those days, as now, was viciously cutthroat. He wasn't more than 13 years old when he achieved super stardom, being taken advantage of from the start. We gotta acknowledge that the kid was given no guidance by these producers, agents, and executives who only looked at him in terms of dollar signs. You put a kid on the stage, give him lots of money, and lots of women, unless he's a freak of nature (which he almost was) it's gonna go straight to his head. Although the responsibility still lies with him since he chose to use the shit, it's not as if there weren't plenty of outside factors that led to him messing with junk and eventually losing his life.

What an incredible showman: he sang, danced and performed like noone else - like he was a highly experienced performer. And yet he was only 13-14 years old.

This was a straight up dynamite performance. No need for all the special effects because he was the special effect. Some people practice to get good but every now and then comes along a person who is just born with the gene to perform. Frankie was definitely one of those and gone way too early. RIP but know we're still jamming with you!

Sometimes in our hype for entertainment we tend to make gods out of every day human beings whereby, these people need an escape back to reality and for many drugs or alcohol will be the only avenue for those who aren't strong.therefore, please worship the giver of talents and not flesh and blood!

Comments bu Guy Furet. He was a a phenomenal talented individual who could have evolved in a successful singing career. The teenagers were so young and they were taken advantage of and people such as Morris Levy stole from them.
