Or more accurately that Caine cannot comprehend the concept of an outside world or conceptualize it, so all he can do is recreate it based off what the others tell him. He has some loose understanding that there is an "outside world" where humans come from, but he doesn't really understand where it is in relation to him, or how they get in to his world. He's an AI and to him, the Circus IS his universe.

He also seems to have a handle on the world more than the others. They check on the clown and he is able to run far faster than he should be able to, has keys everywhere, and with the one way he is looking seems to know about the 4th wall. Me thinks Jax may have either been the creator of this place, or the origial tester, or even knew what he was getting into and made sure to go in to both stay and have an edge.

I think jax is the best character in glitch history in terms of sarcasm and humor.

Yep! Even though it may not seem like it, Jax truly does care for the other circus members. He's just hiding it because that's his coping mechanism. That, along with the fact that he shoved Gangle and Kinger into the Gloink hole to protect them from Kaufmo when he could have just gone in there by himself shows a lot! He'll probably have the most character development by the end of the series!

I don't think Kinger has gone 'insane' the way the show treats the word in the sense that he's on the verge of abstraction due to problems with the show/being trapped. I think he's more just schitzophrenic/paranoid or has developed some mental instability over time rather than actually losing all grounding like Kaufmo. He still behaves like a normal person there's just a slight disconnect.

Well to be honest Pomni was probably a nervous wreck in her previous life, as it appears not ALL the characters are handling it poorly. I mean we can assume kinger has probably been there for at or over a decade and he's FINE.

Don't think kinger is entirely fine? Like hes got a few screw loose. Every now and again he just... forgets he's in a conversation and freaks out when he remembers other people (gangle) exist. We'll have to wait and see

Kinger's wife or queenger's door icon turned into a manniquin roughly 3 minutes after the og shot. I'm guessing that her door was right next to kinger's and changed because of the presence of a abstracted being. Maybe Kinger went a little insane lost a bit of his memory when his wife abstracted and made a fake reality for himself to cope with the loss of his wife. A better idea is that he didn't forget about his wife but tries to forget and is still insane because of it.

God, I've been coming back to this episode once like every hour, just to watch this end scene again, it's so perfect. You can really tell how numb pomni feels in regards to all that's happened, and how the thought "im trapped here" is being replayed in her mind over and over to the point where they don't move. The transition to the food table was great aswell, you get the feeling that pomni didn't even realise they had walked over and sat down, still stuck in their own mind. And the way pomni looks at the food, and they finally get that this isn't a dream, the light shaking of their pupils were so sad to watch. And finally, the forced smile at the end really encapsulates her feelings as a whole. You can tell that she's trying to put this all behind her and move on, just as the others has, but it's still deeply bothering her, the forced smile coming out more as a pained grimace, and the constant twitching of her eyes made me feel so fucking sorry for her. If I literally could, I would put on one of those headsets just to hug pomni. She really needs one.

@@Mohgwyn_ Same here! I’ve rewatched it so many times I could summarize the whole thing on the spot! The character writing is amazing and paired with the spectacular expression work really sells it for me! All the characters feel so real!

@sanjiscigarette The animation is literally so expressive I could gush about it for ages. I think the standout scene for me was when pomni went back for ragatha. Her hand motions when describing what to do next were so expressive and alive that it blew me away. And my god, does this show know how to animate eyes, you can immediately tell what someone is feeling due to their expressiveness. I'm so glad they adhered to the core tenant of storywriting: show, don't tell, because pomni's breakdown at the end was so much more poignant without it being a conversation with someone else.

I totally agree. I have derealization irl, and honestly I can totally relate to Pomni. Whether or not it was actually supposed to depict this, it reminded me a lot of a derealization breakdown. In my experience, people start to sound muffled and somehow still loud, voices, and the fact she just stands there and takes it in hit very close to home- it's like derealization, but your mind is actually right (that you're dreaming- or in this case, in a digital world)

@@Mohgwyn_ this is all thanks to the amazing team behind the show! But if I had to be specific its gooseworks overall art style. When she designs characters in her geometric art style (which I think is her main (not sure double check me on that one)) they usually don’t have mouths, noses or sometimes don’t even have eyebrows so all she can use to express emotions is through the characters eyes, which she executes brilliantly in her short films. Now that goose can use more facial features, it’s a guarantee that the expression work’s spectacular. Another team member I’d like to mention is kevin temmer, the lead animator. (fyi the animator/s that create the overall look and feel of the animation to create a consistent flow through the material and animate most key scenes.) he has a very cartoony and expressive-almost goofy animation style that flows and moves in very unique ways that is perfect for TADC! He warps character models and plays with camera angles to get effects only thought possible with 2d animation.
