For some reason when I first watched glitter force I instantly thought of sailor moon like like did they just change the characters name and the story a little bit😂

The reason they can use multiple super moves later on is because they get better at using their powers. It's that simple. There's no inconsistency.

Precure is predictable and glittery, but that's half the fun. Glitter Force leaves out a lot of information given in Smile Precure, and left out Cure Gorilla.

I understand that some people hate Glitter Force, but I don't think it's fair to call it trash. Same with people who call Smile Precure trash. They're basically the same anime but there are some differences. A few things I dislike about Glitter Force is they got rid of some episodes from the orginal. The opening and ending, the transformation, and the names. They got rid of some important episodes to the story, which kind of made me upset. The opening and ending isn't as jolly and catchy as the orginal. It kind of make me feel weird hearing the glitter/smile pact say "Glitter Charm Activate!". But I really dislike the names. If you watched the orginal Japanese one you'll probably understand. It just ruins the show for me, for other it may not which is totally ok. But they didnt have to change their precure names as well. Like all they had to dowas put Glitter to replace Cure infront of their names. Like Glitter Happy, Glitter March, Glitter Beauty. Glitter Sunny and Peace names stayed the same but I just don't like it it. But what I really like is that Glitter Force is trying to allow American or people that know English. Watch something from a diffrrent country, and how they took time to dub it. In the end Im saying that people shouldnt hate on Smile Precure or Glitter Force they are both okay.

Also, I think the reason that there is very little threat in terms of the villains is because the original series came out just after the 2011 earthquake so they made this particular series comforting and nonthreatening for the kids.

Smile Precure is not a ripoff of Sailor Moon! I’m tired of people saying that! You’re missing out on many cool magical girl shows if you’re just calling them a ripoff of Sailor Moon.

I was with you until you said "S-Class magical girl shows like Madoka Magica". Ew. Cardcaptor Sakura is deserving of that title though. As for Smile Precure/Glitter Force, I don't think the dub hurts it too much. They probably chose the best season to make a dummed down dub. In the video you mentioned that the rules are inconsistent in that they only initially have one finishing move, but then bust out new ones later. That's a pretty standard thing with Precure, as they receive new and highly marketable trinkets that let them access new transformations and flashy finishing moves, becoming more and more powerful as the shows progress. Everything else I agree with and while this was a fun and silly season, it's definitely not one of Precure's best.

Of all the Pretty Cure series, I'm most fond of Heartcatch Precure myself. The art is done by the same guy as Casshern Sins and Saint Seiya Omega, which looks sublime and really sets it apart from the other series. I also appreciate the change in pace with the main character Tsubomi being reserved and intelligent, rather than energetic and/or ditzy. It also has my favorite comedic expressions and moments, such as Tsubomi's epic failure at using her powers for the first time. It's one of the darker and edgier Precure series as I understand it, but it's just the right amount for my tastes.

I remember seeing this and thinking "That looks like a rip off of Precure," who would have thought it actually was Precure but with a new name? Seems pointlessly complicated, especially when you can just go over to crunchy roll and spend a year binging the whole franchise in original Japanese.

Glitter Force isn't that bad. I watched Smile Precure first, and I do only watch the original Japanese version of anime, but Glitter force isn't that bad, in a way. If you take out all the butchering. I guess. Sort of. Kind of. Maybe.

I give it a 1/5. I can barely watch the first episode without getting mind cancer. The characters are the worst, they never entertain me. The villains are the worst, they are either clowns or generic fairy tale villains. The story is the worst, it is copy paste Power Rangers and Sailor Moon with no effort into it at all.

God I wish that Toei would hand over the rights to dubbing Precure to people who actually knew how to be faithful to the original content!

One of the issues with the Glitter Force dub is that it's only half the Smile Pretty Cure series so there is technically a whole other season's worth of episodes and plot to get through. For example, there's a reason the Queen isn't revived straight away. It's an ok dub IMO that could have been a lot worse.

Nice review. I watched 5 episodes of it, than dropped it. I enjoy some mahou shoujo anime from time to time, when i want to turn off my brain, but this one is not for me. For kids i believe it's really alright, I see no harm in watching and enjoying it. Is it trash? Really don't think so. Is it cookie-cutter? Absolutely. (that's not by itself a bad thing in my book) I don't know what the people who bash it expected from it? It really was everything I expected it to be from the get-go.

Been doing my research & here's how the Mews -- er I mean -- Cures are pronounced: Lucky is Happy (Ichigo Momomiya/Mew Ichigo) Sunny is Sunny (Minto Aizawa/Mew Mint) Peace is Peace (Retasu Midorikawa/Lettuce) Spring is March (Bu-Ling Huang/Mew Pudding) Breeze is Beauty (Zakuro Fujiwara/Mew Zakuro) As if they're trying to be Tokyo Mew Mew, but meh. still even watch it.

Me and 2 friends watched the first episode. I literally felt as though part of my brain had been scooped out. I'm not trying to insult those who like the show, or it's original dub, but to put it bluntly we did not care much for the first impression. However much laughs were had.

And WHO was the first Force member after having the crap knocked out of them to refuse to back down, Private Dismissive????? Yeah, the "crybaby", who has as much real bravery as the rest of the girls combined. (I like all the girls, but Lily was early on my favourite, My final score of this review (out of a possible 10): Mention of Mary McGlynn +1; excellent pic of the Major to accompany said mention +1; review of the GF members +2. ; Unnecessary Furry snarks -3 (type "Wolfrun" into the search space and watch what happens - generic bad guy my arse) ; Completely missing the way this series twits the very conventions it upholds WHILE it's upholding them -3 for a total score of 4/10.

Am I the only one who thinks that Kelsey is slightly bland. Haven’t watched the Japanese version yet but as a result of episodes being removed she is blander than her Japanese counterpart. I wonder if Akane fans who have watched Smile Precure and Glitter Force were able to find Kelsey to be as good as her Japanese counterpart witch is sad cause Smile Precure did a good job of balancing its main characters. Also the reason they removed the renter aunt episode was stupid since they called that pizza or pancake by its name in the beach and treasure episode also the beach episode does not count since it was Sunny and Spring’s shared episodes. Just a though I would like to bring up. I wonder if other people feel the same way.

I’m like verrrrrry late but glitter force will always have a special place in me since 1. I like it 2. It’s what got me interested in “anime” and I say that since I liked how the show looked but I never watched anime for like another 3 years. (I also kinda never realized that it was anime until like just now so yea) I don’t think it’s alright to call it a bad show since I mean it’s alright it could definitely be improved since they removed a bunch of stuff from smile pretty cure. These are just my thoughts on the show so pls don’t roast me 😢

This is a perfectly good show but it’s you opinion so ya but if your super girly girl I recommend it and this dances at the end are amazing and it teaches kids to be nice kind and treat others how you would wanna be treated and that there’s always a positive side and a happy ending in life

I love Killer Clowns from Outer Space; despite being a parody, still one of my fav Horrors. I like some aspects this series as Cure Happy has my vote for one of the most adorable characters in all of anime (although I agree with HAL that Candy can die in a fire). But one thing has always irked me; in one episode, it is shown that freakin' BUGS, and other animals for that matter, can give sufficient 'Bad Energy' (or whatever the hell it's called). The bad guys could've used the goddamn Cockroach population alone to bring back their boss 1000X over if they were a smidge competent. But, hey I'm using LOGIC on a show like this, so.......shame on me I guess.
