Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is heading to Washington, D.C. to attend a high-stakes NATO summit and meet with senior U.S. officials as the military alliance marks its 75th anniversary.
The trip comes after Canada has been heavily criticized for its defence spending - in fact, it's one of only two countries in the alliance that hasn't met the 2% benchmark and has no plan to get there.

Our government also gives itself a 19k a month allowance for every member in the House of Commons, tax free, and they don’t need to show receipts on what everything was for, ON TOP of making 100-200k a year, with Trudeau now making near half a million per year. So, whats your point about us “having” an election?

How embarrassing for Canada to have this guy flitting about at great expense, trying to pretend he is the leader of a country that is still important on the world stage. He should be embarrassed to even show his face, but he isn’t. Hopefully some of the actual leaders at the summit call him out for Canada’s lack of participation in what are becoming quite dangerous times.

1. The government needs to focus on reducing insurance costs for cars and homes, and property taxes should be cut by 50%. Also, cities and towns should stop wasting money on unnecessary projects, and Canadian contractors shouldn't be charging double for the same projects as those in the states.

More comment by NATO officials that Canada's NATO spending is low. But OTOH Canada's Ukraine spending is high. Didn't it just give 3 billion to Ukraine? Moreover, Canada may be buying American Submarines at about a billion each. But quality is more important than spending on cheap stuff. So, I can't see that Canada will be buying anything old and ineffective.
