A tidal wave of darkness threatens believers around the globe. So how will the coming generation be strong enough to face this great challenge? It can only come through a right knowledge of God, a theme Paul Washer will address in this message geared toward young people. And this knowledge, he’ll explain, is revealed in the person and work of Christ, found in Scripture-a knowledge that gives strength to face hard times as we glorify Him.

I hear so very, very little of the love of Christ for His people in any other preaching but Brother Paul’s. I’ve been in good churches over many years, and it just doesn’t seem to come up very often. I greatly appreciate Brother Paul keeping this before the Church so faithfully.

His gentleness of preaching is amazing and is how we are all to approach people especially those who are not for Christ. At the same time to not only share the love story but the whole story. His-story. From beginning to end. I agree with you 100% so please do not take my reply wrong. Many churches today preach love and leave out repentance and the fact that we are sinners and that without Him we will not make it very far. God bless you and yours forever. Shalom

I sometimes find myself struggling to express the love I have for God because it’s intense and beyond my understanding. Then I find myself going from lukewarm to intermittently forgetting Him because of distractions of the world. That to me is hypocritical. Your sermons seem like the Lord is talking to me…very emotional and beautiful. God help us all to love you the way you deserve to be loved.

@@patriciacole8773 Dear Ma'am, i dont understand why you answered this comment with yhe words you chose. Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy and Genesis 2 2) And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3) And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. Would you explain how you feel that answers his/her need for prayer for Paul's serman subject? (I do agree that the Catholic heirarchy removed a commandment.) (In Deuteronomy 4:2 Moses declares, “You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commands of the Lord your God which I command you.” "The only way in which we can rightly “keep” God's commands is to not add or subtract from his word."

Stop looking at the world and yourself. The only time I'm able to escape crushing despair is reading the word while praying, I've been given a glimpse of communion with God. The ONLY thing that gives me a good thought/emotion. As soon as I look at anything of myself, I am destroyed. This is what is the meaning of Peter walking on the water, he only walked while looking at Jesus, as soon as he looked away he sank and would have drowned.

It's good to hear him talk about obeying out of love rather than obligation. For so long, it seems that he's always presented obeying out of obligation, which can produce condemnation when we fall. If we obey out of obligation, we are religious. We are not Christians.

Gospel means good news! The bad news is we have all sinned and deserve the wrath to come. But Jesus the Messiah died for our sins, was buried, and then raised on the third day, according to the scriptures. He ascended into heaven and right now is seated at the Father's right hand. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

Jesus said that the greatest commandment is the love, the Lord God, with all of your heart, mind and soul. Somethings that Paul washer has really impressed on me is that we all failed to do this. We may say that we love God and to a certain degree we all do at least for believers. But truth be told we all still to love the way that Christ loved us all. How many of us could say that we would be at what he gave and was the only one to ever walk impureness on this earth. I’m not crazy as one with dank, but I know the evil that is inside of me because of the fall of man. My prayer for myself, and for everyone is that God will reveal in a true love for him. Even to get to 1% of how much Christ loved us.

‘Loving God more’ can still be very abstract. Jesus says: if you love Me, you will love my Word. If you don’t love my Word, you don’t love Me. John 14:23-24. Reading means eating, chewing. Preparing a weekly Bible study for a buddy who isn’t brought up in the faith is a good incentive, especially when you also have to explain more than ‘just’ the gospels f.e. Romans or the Old Testament. I’m really thankful that God sent me a buddy. For me more scripture insight and scripture time goes hand in hand with loving Him more!

"And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead." - Revelation 3:1, This church had a good reputation from those outside their own church because of their good works, but they themselves were dead on the inside just like the pharisees. They appeared to be clean on the outside but were in fact dirty, one could assume this was a result of the lack of fear and love they had for the Lord. Patriciacole8773 is attaching a SabbathDay/fourth commandment post to everyone's comment ... I suspect she is a Seventh Day Adventist. To those: Therefore, no one is to act as your judge in regard to food and drink, or in respect to a festival or a new moon, or a Sabbath day. Colossians 2:16

I hope you people see what Paul said. All his messages pail in comparison to this one. It is the love of Christ that compels us, not head knowledge

He intentionally left out the part "for the father is greater than I" I think the world of Paul, but to someone who has never heard the verse, they are getting a picture that's a little off. Only a small critique, but biblical accuracy is very important, especially for a passage as famous as that one is.

"The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over His enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy. That’s the gospel. The gospel is good news because it brings a person into the everlasting and ever-increasing joy of Jesus Christ. He is not merely the rope that pulls us from the threatening waves; He is the solid beach under our feet, and the air in our lungs, and the beat of our heart, and the warm sun on our skin, and the song in our ears, and the arms of our beloved. The greatest good of the gospel is not forgiveness, justification, or eternal life - as good as these are. The highest, fullest, deepest, sweetest good of the gospel is God himself, enjoyed by his redeemed people. The gospel is the good news that God bought for us the everlasting enjoyment of God. The best news in the world is that there is no conflict between our greatest possible happiness and God’s perfect holiness. Being satisfied with all that God is for us in Jesus magnifies Him as the greatest treasure and brings us more joy - eternal, infinite joy - than any other delight ever could." -pieces of an article from Desiring God

@@t13ra45 In 321 A.D. Constantine changed Sabbath to sun day after rome persecuting Christians for generations. It’s why Protestant Christians go to church on sun day. It’s a tradition from pagan rome. Constantine was a sun worshipper!
