Great fight. What an awkward opponent for Robin. He sussed out the openings, timing and weaknesses and exploited them for the rest of the fight.

Skinny legs can actually help. There's a common misconception about corking bats in baseball. It's not to provide bounce, it's to reduce weight. Like a bat lighter legs can be swung faster. Plus you can fight at a lower weight.

The American kickboxing gyms are just not on the right level jet. Too bad.. An American champion would really open up the market in the US, would be great for the sport. Let talented young kickboxers train in the Netherlands for a year or two, it would make a huge difference.

I see some potential in Vannostrand. IMO he didn't use his reach advantage correctly. When he was in the middle of the ring he was throwing knees (as good as they were) which means he was helping Roos close distance and counter. Additionally in the first rounds he was using a lot of crosses opening himself for counters, he should have jabbed a lot of more. He was using it later in the fight but he was exhausted and didnt have much power. Also checking those leg kicks would work magic. If he could keep his distance with some hard jabs and some teeps or kicks to the body he would look a lot better. If Roos was coming in or having him in the corner that would be an awesome time to show his real good knees and some strong hooks if he can (he did have some good hooks in the fight). He could really be a future champ if he fixes those small mistakes but who knows

It all started with the spinning bullshit. People won't learn spinning in a fight is idiotic untill they get a well placed kick to the liver while they spin. That's the only way. You never turn your back to the enemy ffs, he was doing fine, he got discouraged from that knockdown. He would've lost anyway, but not shamed like this.
