To be honest, I usually take the ring off to wash my hands. But if your using the E6000 glue, you should be fine. But if your using any other kind of glue, I'd say be careful. ~Gloss and Sparkle

Little lady, your're adorable and smart. You did a great job in your tut. I'll bet, either you or your husband painted those leaves around that inexpensive round mirror which turned out so great. Obviously, you guys have great design taste. I painted vertical stripes in my kitchen about twenty years ago, they're about 5" wide and I still love that look, your black ones are very dramatic.

Those options might work for a while, you'll definitely get some wear out of them but it definitely won't last as long as E6000 since it is an Industrial Grade Adhesive.

You NEED to spread them out for it to work.. and use new nail polish, old dried up ones will be heavier and just sink to the bottom.

tacky glue will NOT hold. Another tip is to use either steel wool or sandpaper and rough up the surface of the ring base before applying the glue.

Hi i love your idea! But when you stick the ring on the glass that risks to come loose or not at all? Because it is sticked on the nail polish! can you see what I mean? Thank you for your answer very soon I hope ^^

PSA: I do use E6000 for my woodworking and in some crafts with my kids. That stuff stinks and if your folks use it, need to know to use in a well ventilated area. I get mine at Lowes or Home Depot. I like this project and think I may get smaller stones and have the kids design a few. How well does the bases stay glued? From a novice stand point I would think the polish would peel off the stone if it gets bumped. My girls are 9 and rough on everything, so just thinking of durability. Thanks for sharing :D

Hi I was wondering do the nail polish don't like chips or fades like when you use it on your nails? Hope you can answer! Btw love them all!
@GlossandSparkle
@GlossandSparkle 10 жыл бұрын
Mine haven't chipped or faded. I'm guessing it's because the painted portion does not have much exposure since it's painted on the bottom of the stone. Also, it doesn't really touch anything unlike when you paint your nails.

I have another idea! You need aluminium-foil, shiny thin/glass paint (mine was called Jeweltone) and clear glue. You slightly 'trash/crumble/snowball/no-idea-what-it's-called' the aluminiumfoil into a ball. Not too much though, just like a paper-snowball. Then you open it up again (any cracks, no problemo, just be sure to put an old newspaper underneath then) and you put the glass paint on it. If I'm correct, the paint will collect itself in the folds and therefore, get darker. Just spread it around and let it dry. The paint will dry up, still being kindof shiny. That's when you cut out the shape of the glass bead (you can fold extra foil back, if neccessary) and put glue underneath the glass bead and glue them together. Let them dry on the front-side, so they won't stick to the surface with the potential extra glue on the edges.) The result is as shiny as it gets.
