Please consider asking your mom to digitally scan that original sale catalogue so that the information can be digitally preserved and widely shared. That way even if the original copy goes into a private collection the *information* in it is freely available.

@@thefunkyfarmer I enjoyed the videos as well! Funny enough though, just today I discovered "A Cotswold Farm Shop" on Channel 4, and in the first episode they mention/show Gloucester Cattle (if you haven't seen the documentary, you should - find it quite enjoyable!).

Half a dozen Gloucester cows would look good on the farm

Fantastic looking breed of cattle, I do hope more would have a liking to them and the knowledge around them will be passed on to the right people to be kept for generations.

So pleased to see you mentioning the breed. 👍Just starting out with our Gloucesters, they are great. Shame to have missed you at Eric Fest, such a nice day!

Thanks for that Richard, and what a lovely Lady. Those Gloucesters are really nice looking cattle, I've never seen anything so unusually marked and, that mahogany colour, nice looking beasts. Even learned a bit about Stinking Bishop that I never heard before.

How lovely to see such a rare breed and listen to the enthusiasm of this lady. Lovely looking breed and as you say, so nice to see horns these days.

A very nice lady and full of all the knowledge of that breed. It's always interesting to hear the story's behind these native breeds and how they've been bred for that particular area over the years. here in Devon were lucky to have two breeds the South Devon which is quite a large mainly beef breed and then you got the North Devon or Ruby Red as there sometimes called which is a slightly smaller beef breed

What a great mini video, and gorgeous cows! So glad that Sue was around and willing to give you the info on the breed/let you film it! The other hasn't come up in my youtube feed yet, so if not for this separate video i would have completely missed them! I hope others continue to take on the breed and get some different bloodlines etc in. And fascinating to see the difference between the milk vs beef typing.

I used to know a farmer in Happisburgh, Norfolk who has a herd of Gloucester cattle. Nice looking beasties.

Ya know...if you're raising a couple of pigs for meat, any chance you'd consider one or two of these? Help keep the history alive...and it would be one heck of a Perry's video too
