A short and inaugural trip for me to the Gloucester Warwickshire Steam Railway, for the Autumn Showcase. Running on what was once the mainline between Cheltenham and Stratford upon Avon, the GWSR cuts its way along the west side of the Cotswolds. With the price of coal increasing dramatically over the last year, galas have become all the more rarer. However, this didn’t deter the GWSR from having an intensive timetable. Steam locomotives running during the weekend, included Merchant Navy no.35006 ‘Peninsular & Oriental’, GWR Hall no.7903 ‘Foremarke Hall’ and GWR Manor no.7820 ‘Dinmore Manor’, along with 2 Class 47s, No. 5051 & a Class 117 DMU. The weather was autumnal and fair, but rapidly deteriorated in the evening. On race day at Cheltenham, and in no particular order, shots were taken at:
