Growing up in Winchcombe in the mid to late sixties, that tunnel was part of my playground.

David Shepard said that when he was looking to buy steam engines from BR he had a look through the service records. 92203 had just had a major heavy overhaul but was destined for the scrapyard. His other engine standard class 4 75029 was the same for it too had recently had a major heavy overhaul. David said it cost a pittance to buy both engines but the cost of keeping them running is astronomical. Steam engines are like huge sponges for they soak up huge amounts of money.

Just wondering why it is called The Gloucestershire Warwickshire railway when it's no where near Warwickshire. Surley it should be Gloucestershire Worcestershire Railway.
