This is a short recording of the making of a platform to position a Switchbot on my Glowforge Plus which will mean I can press the "Glowing Button" to start a print without having g to leave my desk!
I designed this platform using Silhouette Business Edition software, with accurate measurements to frame the button and sit the Switchbot neatly, with just a little room to engrave the nickname I've given my little bot!
I used a stunning-looking teal mirrored acrylic sheet, approx 3mm in depth and used proofgrade settings for medium red acrylic to get a nice clean cut. I also masked both sides of the acrylic to reduce any scorch marks and flash marks from the crumb tray.
The Switchbot is seemingly a popular little gadget for us Glowforgers and for that reason, I decided I will be giving this file/design away for free to any members of my Glowforge UK Facebook Group who would like it.
