Key part you missed. You should press and hold the start button (without touching the brake peddle) for 20 seconds or until you hear the process. That is what actually initiates the self prime process. It is quite loud.

Thank you! Worked great on my 23 Yukon 3.0. Only thing I did different was hold down the start button for 5 seconds which primes the fuel pump /filter. You can hear it actively working. Other than that everything else went as you described.

FYI, if you are buying OEM AC Delco parts for a GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade, buying them from the Chevrolet dealer is almost always cheaper and usually in stock. I found this out with oil filter and drain plug between GMC and Chevrolet dealers with my Yukon. The GMC dealer was out of stock so I went to the Chevy dealer across the street and saved a bunch and got what I needed. Unless the part is unique to the brand like a headlight or taillight they all use the same part number for the general maintenance parts like air filters, oil filters, oil...etc. Thanks for the great video MG!

I agree! Learned that the hard way. I was buying all my maintenance parts from Amazon, for example my oil. Amazon had the whole 7 quarts w/ oil filter for 90 dollars including shipping. Went to a Chevy dealership nearby and got it for just around 65 dollars.

Great, video that I will use as a first time diesel engine owner. Is there no valve or shut-off to close first so fuel doesn't leak, beyond the minimal in the filter? Do you use a fuel additive?

It looked like you didn’t have that larger o ring seated properly and you should have put a little oil on all o rings before installing the filter. Also I saw a little edit, did you start cross threading the housing when you tried to install it? Better luck next time!

Its very easy. Just 3-4 philips head screws to remove the top of the filter housing & a flathead to loosen the clamp on the intake hose. Separate the hose from the housing. The filter housing is held on one side by grooves to make sure its lined up correctly. I always make sure to remove any debris before installing the new filter.

There is a good one on KZfaq now on 2020 to 2024 Silverado 3.0 Duramax, one screw was hard to unscrew because the engineers didn't allow enough room to work, uggh.
