Great lecture Ben. Korchnoi-Karpov is one of my favorites also. There was a chess book I had as a kid that used that game to demonstrate the isolated d-pawn, and it biased me against the isolated pawn for decades. It wasn't until recently that I started to understand the dynamism of the d-pawn, and now one of my favorite variations is the white side of the Semi-Tarrasch, where white plays an early e4.

My problem is I just look at the pawns sternly, but I never go all out to punish them...

I'd be interested in which of the plans still work with isolated pawns on other files on 4th rank or other ranks. Seems the isolated d4 is most often so its focused on.
