Ok so im a master certified ase mechanic i have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe LS driver rear window you had to push really hard and the passenger side front was not working properly and side view mirrors and drivers door window not working at all i took the master switch out took it apart took some very light Emery cloth lightly sanded the 2 circuit boards in the switch assembly clean with denatured alcohol put back in vehicle and just like amazingly everything works perfect thanks so much for your video. I have confirmed that it works be extremely careful not to damage circuit boards or else you will need a new one.

That totally worked! I was prepared to dole out the $150 or so for the part and accidentally stumbled across this video while looking for a cheaper way about it. This is very easy to do. I just used alcohol and Q-tips to clean the connections. I also cleaned the contacts on the rubber sleeve the connection board sits under. This simple fix even saved me from replacing the mirror motor. I can imagine I would have been pissed to replace it and it still not work because all it really had been was simple dirty connection. Great video. Very easy to understand and follow. Thanks Gary.

Good job !! Not only did you make the control board look and work just like new, But I bet it smelled minty fresh also lol I have the same problem with my control panel. So I am now about to follow your instructions. Thanks for putting up this video for all of us

Very helpful..thanks. Mine was not working all the time and they would not inspect my vehicle unless the windows worked. So I cleaned the contact points on inner board with a pencil eraser and 70% alcohol and put it back together and it works 100% again. Also using a few butter knives works really easily when removing from clips. Also you will break the front screw removing the assembly from the door unless you take the door panel off. But when I replaced it, it fit snugly in-place especially with the larger clip still usable.

I would also recommend cleaning the tips of the little black bumpers on the rubber matt when you disassemble and remove the second board

How do you fix corroded wires? Mix several tablespoons of baking soda into a cup of warm water and stir until the baking soda has been dissolved. Dip the toothbrush in the mixture and then scrub the electrical wire and the wire connected with it. The mixture will begin to fizz on the corroded metal so do not be alarmed.

my 2003 silverado door switch is exactally the same EXCEPT for the way the switch panel comes out. mine has a SCREW that has to be removed from the inside of the door panel. If you try and pry it off you will break the screw tab. GMC and chevy are the same I dunno why they would make 2 different connections
