I was struggling to get heat from my blazer with auto temp controls and this little routine did the trick so a huge thanks and anyone having issues with a GM auto temp system even as old as 1999, try this regardless of the issue because it just might fix it. And save you a trip to the shop.

It worked. Have a 2004 GMC Sierra Truck with the same autotemp setup and center console, not something I was looking forward to disassembling. Turns out I didn't need to because of your video. Thanks for posting the step by step details showing all the areas to go with each step. It behaved exactly as you showed it would and I no longer feel like I'm driving through the Sahara desert on the driver side while the passenger sits in the Arctic.

My 2005 Tahoe went into theft deterrent mode when I pulled that fuse. Engine would start and immediately shut down on fuel cut off. It was easily reset by locking all doors with auto lock and then key opening the drivers door. Then the climate control reset worked as described. Thanks for sharing this procedure, it sure helped me!

It’s Saturday and got my battery changed and the AC worked through the defogger and floor but not through the vents. I took to a couple shops and all booked until Monday. Have to use 07 Chevy classic for work Sunday in the San Antonio heat🥵 Thank god I found your video here. All vents working and saved some serious $$$!!! Thanks brother.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post this video, it worked on my 2004 Silverado! One weird thing, after those steps it was putting out cool air out the defroster, I was worried and thought I would have to redo it. Then later in the day I restarted the engine and it somehow adjusted and blows perfect cold air....fixed!

Thank you. On vacation in our 05 Avalanche today when the ac started blowing hot air (summer air). Saw that the compressor was running and dripping water so must have been the ducts. Found your video and worked! It didn’t cycle through the different vents but start blowing cold at the 74 reset. After restarting all the functions still worked. 🤘🏼

Excellent! I removed some burned-out light bulbs in my climate control display and, like an idiot, I drove the vehicle without the unit installed. After reinstalling, everything was wonky. I used this re-calibration process and it worked perfectly. And thanks for giving credit as to where you got the information from. Nothing pisses me off more than to watch hijacked videos and the poster acting like it was their idea.

I just repaired my A/C automatic blend motor assembly by disassembling the unit, inspected the gears, inspected the large final drive gear and its copper fingers that slide on the variable resistor pad. I put more tension on the copper fingers and used the surplus lube from inside and applied it to the gears. Reinstalled the unit and started my 2012 GMC Sierra with the A/C on, varied the temp setting cold to hot and back again, IT WORKS! Just my time and no parts.

I didn't know that Jack Osborne worked on ACs! ;) Great info...thanks for the post. FYI: The rear blend door is notorious for breaking. The replacement is expensive and prone to the same problem but one can be made out of steel fairly easily.
@WHATTHEFIX6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have contemplated making a manual adjusting arm/knob for the rear, since you really only need H or C. constant tuning seems unnecessary. Would require a hole thru the plastic.
