Guilty as charged for going back and watching your older stuff. Especially the Zona Alpha episodes. Those episodes are great. Go Johnny Mac. I also like how the book looks like it's typed up like a technical document or government report.

The armor wearing out is a great little detail and realistic as ceramic plates degrade so does Kevlar as it gets tested... Picked this up a while back and will have to dust it off... Great review!!! The group of adventurers idea is a good one!!

What a coincidence, I picked this up a couple of weeks ago and I'm building a team with some of the Anvil Industries stuff and I was wondering if you would do a playthrough at some point. Looking forward to seeing that. I really like the game, but as with the original rulebook there are a lot of oversights and things that could really do with some clarification. For instance, there's actually nothing in the rules about each of your characters getting three wounds except the example character sheets. I also much prefer the way you're doing salvage as getting the items you need is really easy as written, especially with a smuggler class stalker with the scrounger skill.

Three wounds not mentioned? In the Kontraband rulebook, look on p. 49. Section 5.6. "Wounds".

@@CapeCodWargameCommission hey Patrick! I’m looking at my digital copy from WGV I bought last week. The example maybe implies you adjust the Veteran to three wounds but it doesn’t get explicitly stated there’s a stat change. Might be the version there just needs an update. Also the character sheets seem to show some core stats (like combat) being different between scientists and stalkers. Was that also an intended change?

Yes, you're right I did miss that, though it's buried within an example relating to being out of action, and is mentioned much later than character creation which is where I would have thought this would come up first. Appreciate the clarification though.

@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames It mentions on page 10 that scientists are capped at a combat ability of 5 and have limited weapon selections (pistols and SMGs unless you're also a field agent)

Thanks for the review. Despite trying my best to film the gaps I found original zona alpha not very well written after a few games. If the armor rule is intended at Owen "dont be that guy" sound like poor excuse for poor rule writting. And it's not just armor. The rule don't say when the smoke grenade disapear for exemple. Monster profiles don't make sens and are mostly left to player discretion. I dont buy a book to have it tell me do it yourself.
