Cannot wait for the Let's Play. I've become a big fan of Osprey's blue books, and non-historical games in general (including that one zombie one...whatever it's called.).

I'm surprised no one has made an SCP miniature game yet. Between the number of factions and monsters and environmental hazards... lot of room for a game there.

Roadside Picnic is one of my favorite books. Stoked for this!

Spent all of lock down time building terrain and miniatures for Zona Alfa and it's awesome. Well worth anyone's time if you like skirmish near future sci-fi.

You should try Hardwired by Patrick Todoroff if you like this. Its great.

Never read Roadside Picnic but have watched STALKER a few times. A very beautiful and interesting movie but I fear much of its theme goes over my head :D

Thanks for the review Ash. I have been keeping (even) more of an eye on this since I played a few games of the authors (self published I think) "Hardwired" multiplayer co-op game recently. Patrick has an attitude to rules streamlining that fits well with my attitude to tabletop gaming. I'm looking forward to giving it a read. Hopefully you will get around to a Let's Play series on this sometime.

Looks pretty cool. I've been watching this one for a while now and it seems like a good excuse to paint up some modern mercenary type minis. Always nice to have an excuse to browse for new minis!

Stalker The Tabletop Game! This will be Osprey's next Gaslands sleeper-hit. Not sure if you can still get them, but Lead Adventure used to have the most Stalkerish minis ranges for this (it was their "PA" range obs) I think I have PA- 01 thru PA-05, which was the core of the range. Do an image search for "Lead Adventure Post Apocalypse" to see them.

This would be a good system for an Annihilation themed game.

What size bases are you using for vermin swarms, and large mutants if played at 28mm scale. Also what base size are you using for standard size units?

Any particular model ranges that would go well with this game? I have some friends very excited to play!

Thanks for the video Ash. The read through of the various rule books have helped me decide which game to choose in the past. It helps me at least. I am looking at Zona Alfa and Zone Raiders. I know I can only get into and play one of the two because I am the guy in my group who gets people to play new games and I am the one who is initially learning the game and painting the first set of miniatures because I can't get others to play unless I show them first. Did this with Frostgrave and then everyone got into the game. I will probably purchase Zone Raiders to support the author and I like to read rule books to understand how they are different or the same compared to other games. However, only one game is getting to the game. Watching Zone Raiders it just seems more complex to learn. In terms of depth and complexity, would you say that Zona Alfa is closer to Frostgrave and Zone Raiders is more complex? I know this question may be too early because you may not have played yet but would like your opinion to help me decide which one I should start with.

Despite the theme differences, what is your opinion between these skirmish rules and stargrave/frostgrave?

Quick one when making your gang do you get to choose any weapon as a ranged weapon can't see it in the rules

Can anyone explain (preferably with an example) how exactly skill checks work? The book is a bit confusing on this

So is the idea to have competing treasure hunters with NPC zombies run by who? Or one explorer party vs. monster player?

During the review one thing had really put me off... Its prices. 10k ru is really not a big ammount of money (around 150$US) and even lower than minimum wage in Russia.... Somaybe you should add a 0 in the end of all prices in the book if you consider to play it? Но в любом случае приятного времяприпровождения!

I wish Osprey would dump the boring blue book format and give these great games some nice art and layout (like Last Days).

I have pre-ordered this book and look forward to reading it. Thanks for the review but you speak very quickly and tend to slur one word into the next. This makes you difficult to understand. For the record I am a Native Speaker of English.
