The From the Depths AoG Gimle battleship is completed and battles continue with the very scary Water Based Frontsider, a super smart ship that beats the ragnarök every time, very impressive and made by Shipmaster Kent, which will be the stronger battleship? To BATTLE!

Gimle Open Seas Build Rules:
- Naval ships or low flying airships. Your submission should work in a naval setting but cannot submerge, it also can't fly higher than 500m if it is an airship.
- No cheese, like no 1m tetra spam filled areas for aim spoof, no internal waterpropellers or azipods, no spincliping and all those other usual cheese tactics are banned.
- Max 100K blocks
- No extreme missile or interceptor spam (hint: use mediums and not so manny smalls)
- No waterpumps or heliumpumps what so ever, like not a single one can be present on your build.
- Under 2.2 million cost: that means 2.1XXX not 2.2XXX
- Max 2 Repair Bots
- No spawners/drones/docked crafts
- No extreme subobject spam (like 200 dif guns)
- No intentional melee
- No video screens and cameras present on the battleship (the one that makes captains see when there is no windows)
- Ship can not play video our audio sources during battle. (includes YT video players etc)
- When submitting the ship, any lights and smoke generators should be switched off and not activate during the battle since they cause unnecessary lag, if you have a decorated version with interiors etc we should check out please submit one "battle version" where laggy stuff is turned off and one "parade version" that looks cool with all its lights, video players or cameras and smoke effects etc enabled and working.
Btw: if your ship lags too much I will not be able to use it. If your ship breaks the rules the battle will be cancelled.
- Deadline: Open submission.
- Ships must be submitted to me via Discord DM or Email, send the .blueprint file, not a workshop link.
Battle Rules:
- The battles will be best of three.
- All ships will spawn with the bow towards Gimles bow, gimle is a one sider, but it still spawns nose to nose, make your ship manouverable enough to avoid a collission. This rule is because the ships will close in on eachother and that is much more entertaining than far away orbiting battles (thanks Menti!), if you want that, spend on manouverabillity and speed, because you are not getting optimal orbit for free.
- Given 500K materials.
- You need to be able to win within 15 minutes of ingame time per battle.

Hey Kent, glad you found your way here and super impressed by your design. Would be awesome if you wanted to build something within the official rules too, you are surely a shipmaster as I know this ships previous performance :)

Well it so happens I am also spaceshipmaster as I have a flying futuristic frontsider with two fast firing 400mm+ APS cannons and ridiculous armour, I plan to change it so it adheres to the rules

A fine frontsider. Am I correct in assuming the VLS's are interceptors? Also, are you using helium pumps to supplement the altitude thrusters?(its hard to tell how much air is in the vessel) I can only imagine how much resource this would burn in campaign.(unless you made a carryall craft or something, I made a zero cost to move blimp that could carry a megaladon, but it was huge, slow as heck, and made the game have conniptions if any part of the blimp suffered a hole from enemy fire) might be worth it for that level of DAKKA!

I love building frontsiders also but Hovers as i find speed the key to survivability in my plays ive done. Find the challenge of building hovers fun. Super impressive ship kent.,

the enemy's lack of redundancies and backup weapons gained you the first victory. but what a primary weapons system it has! the overpenetrations are also wasted energy but better to have too much pen than not enough.

Yes indeed, Gimle is less armoured than most ships of half it's cost so over-penetration is expected against it, just another lucky hit and gimle would have won lol XD

It's not often we get to see something that beats the Gimle! It's a testament to how well designed she is that she won that first battle, I think. If she could compensate for the frontsider's strafing motion and land hits more consistently, the battle surely would've been yours.

It could have been a win with just one lucky hit, but it really makes sure to keep the distance well which is a great benefit for it :)

I actually build a frontsider ship before that had so much rpm that the bullets despawned on theyr way

I'm curious, have you had a gimle review? like going indepth about the choices, weapons etc, how they look, components etc? or was that a supporter only type reward?

Are you still taking submissions to fight the Gimle? I've been really enjoying your content, and it has motivated me to stop messing around in designer mode ad nauseum and actually try to put together a coherent ship. The problem is that building a 100k block 2.2mil budget ship that is aesthetic and effective is.. taking me awhile. Hoping to get some kind of timeline to go off of. I'll join the discord and post this there too with a screen shot of the WIP.

well in the first battle it wasnt the laser that destroyed the gun. it was the cram hit that you even recorded and comented on. it somhow cut the firing piece off from the loaders and clips. and just after on video you saw 2 more cram hits taking out each of the smaller guns

This is the kind of ship that Plasma was put into the game to specifically counter. If you were to refit the the Gimle to have Plasma what would replace/change to keep it in price?
