Oko-Jumbo Led House Of Assembly Denounces Resolution By Martins Amaewhule & Other Pro-Wike Lawmakers
The Victor Oko-Jumbo-led Rivers State House of Assembly has called on the general public to ignore the resolution passed by those it refers to as former members of the house led by Martin Amaewhule shutting down all expenditures of the Rivers State government until Governor Sim Fubara re-presents the 2024 appropriation bill. This follows the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum given by the Amaewhule group to the governor to re-present the budget.
Addressing the house at Tuesday’s plenary, Victor Oko-Jumbo urged the public to disregard the resolution passed by former members who have no legal or moral basis to do so.

Who is in support of this...since River state can function with three members of house of assembly,then there is no need of house of Assembly in Nigeria,the house of representative can stay and the money for Senators and house of Assembly members can be use to develop the state and we can still keep the Local government chairmans

The whole of Rivers State. You people always fail in your argument about the 3 officers functioning as bona fide members. It is true that the law recognises 2/3rd to form a quorum. But your argument fails to capture a situation where majority of members suddenly defect, consequently creating vacancy of their seats. 2/3rd of whatever number of members left must carry on legislative duties, is this too hard to understand? They have called on INEC to conduct fresh elections to fill the vacancy arising from the sudden defection of the former members.
