Go Terrain By XP Metal Detectors | First Look And Tutorial

In this video we will be taking a look at the long anticipated app from XP Metal Detectors called: Go Terrain.
We will be discussing what it is, how you download it, set it up and how you can use it for your metal detecting sessions out in the field.
Important - The app is currently (at the time this video was made) only available in France and the UK. By the time the app is released fully it may have different options to what is demonstrated in this video however the general usability wont change.
This fantastic app from XP is perfect for everyone that is into Metal detecting so even if you don't use an XP machine you will still be able use this app and record your finds without any issues.

@@OMA_MetalDetecting I really liked the App 👍but saying that I only ran it without it being connected to my Deus2.When testing it at home it was registering to many signals and I wasn’t sure how to sort that part of the app out 🤔but …. I entered the finds manually as a marker ie find 1,2,3 ect and when I got home I edited it and put what the finds were 👍 I did find that when you edit or try and save anything it takes ages so maybe this can be sorted out in an update? Am looking forward for my detecting buddy to get it so we can work the app together 🤞

@@OMA_MetalDetecting Thanksalot matey - still watching your vid, but absol. LOVING the idea of 'Group Mode!' Me and my Pal do our perms together, and we've been using 'Tect-o-Trak' pretty extensively. They stopped developing it recently tho', and never got round to any 'Networkable' features like Group mode - so I can see us switching to Go Terrain fer sure... Anyways, will let you know how I get on buddy, (altho' prob. too late to try it fer tomorrow...) Happy Hunting! Bobby 🤩

Ps. 'Wow' to 'Vibrate when Crossing Lines' - this is another wish-list idea I had for Tect-o-Trak! I'm really hoping to integrate the Historic UK maps eventually. Once it does that, it'll be the 'Holy Grail of detecting Apps!...' 🤣😂

It’s amazing Phil, I used it on the weekend as a “group” dig and it worked perfectly. We were able to clearly see where the good spots were and where iron was. Highly recommend it mate 👍👍

Thank you. Since I am searching more and more sound only I am wondering if, for the DEUS II there is a phone holder mountable on the detector itself. It would be great in combination with the remote mounted on my arm or belt

I don’t think there is plans for a phone holder for the stem as of yet. I doubt it will happen either, I mean people seem to break off the remote so imagine the come back from people breaking the phone holder. Bet someone out there will do one as a 3D printed type of thing. Thanks for watching my content 👍👍

Michael, How long do the coils and the rc last per charge ? Do you have to take a backup metal detector or another coil to do 8hrs plus?

Hey bud, so the coil and RC with headphones will easily last a day. I could probably get a day and a half. What you might need a battery pack for is you’re phone as if you’re using the app the battery does drain a little faster unfortunately 👍👍

Please all remember that this App is under continual testing and thus please do not expect a finished product. There are clear elements to this App that need some work, but the general functionality is very good.

Android users beware, your processor must be Snapdragon or Kirin for compatibility to your Deus.

Great video. Would you know what the difference between push and auto is?

Push is when you link it to your XP machine and it sends the data straight from the coil to your phone via Bluetooth. Push still link to r phone however you have to press a button if you want to record a target or add targets in manually.

I've been hearing about this since I first bought my Deus I about 7 years ago. I'm skeptical that we here in the U.S. will ever see it.

the app is not available in Germany!! Why ? We have to access other metal detector apps, even though you already have the function on the XP Deus 2. The app even exists in Ukraine.

Push feature isn't working for me. I can only connect remote in auto mode

As far as my understanding goes, push is when you want to add finds using the app. Auto is when you want the coil to do it for you. There are some bugs with auto at the moment but when it’s running correctly it’s going to be epic 👍😉

Hey Fabrice! Thanks for your message. You can certainly use this app to record your beach find spots. It’s dead easy too. If you haven’t seen it check out the tutorial video I did for XP and it will show you how to get up and running for your first test run. Good luck, your going to love it 👍👍

the go terrain app will NOT work with UK android phones, as XP said the processors required are, snapdrogon & kirin, & all UK android phones use, Exynos. where you are of this ?

It does work on my colleagues phone who uses android and is in the U.K. please remember it is not fully released yet and many functions are still being worked on 👍

My Phone can't find my XP DEUS 2, or is it just not compatible with my mobile device?

What phone are you using? Make sure you’re remote is in Auto mode then search for your coil. While it’s searching run a target over your coil. This should detect the coil faster. I sometimes use my phone as the target as I already have it in my hand. Let know how you get on 👍👍

I think you need the remote for it to send information to the app. It actually pairs to the coil however it uses the Bluetooth connection from the RC to send the data of what you find to the app. Hopefully they do open it up to Lite users though 👍

Great video Thank you for sharing it. My question is why the app doesn't save my data on my phone, I don't like it at all period! On the server and can be linked to other groups? That's just NOT THEY ADVERTISED IT, Why you go so easy to treat you like that? Subscription? Really? Yeah, It's good for all detectors, you can sell your service to none xp deus users but xp deus users must be free do you understand what you advertised and promised it and after many years now with a yearly Subscription?

Certainly can buddy! If your using an XP machine then just link which ever coil you want before you start your session. Likewise if you aren’t using an XP machine then you can record your finds manually anytime.
