I had the same exact problem with my stem coming loose at the locking mechanism, happened twice with screw snapping last time I had to tap it with a bigger screw but stem still wobbles thanks for the great idea on the make shift shim I'm gonna try it, go trax needs to step it up on the locking design

I first bought one couple months ago then at 693.5 miles it broke (after a dangerous accident) , so i had a warranty and they send me a new one on the new one in less than 20 days i made 200+ miles , this scooter its perfect.

I put 3000 miles on my ninebot max. It’s still going strong I sold it to my friend bc I just got the gotrax gmax ultra. … which is amazing so far 320 miles , it’s very smooth . I’m in nyc so that’s important not to feel every bump

You said you were “jumping the scooter”. How often was this done ? Most people I know who ride escooters are VERY careful how they ride, and jumping the G4 here probably wa the root cause of most of iTs failures. (But do note, GoTrak is NOTORIOUS for HORRIBLE Customer Service)

I bought this scooter for $600 on Amazon, but this review made me change my mind and I cancelled it. Ended up getting the Segway Ninebot MAX instead since the Reddit comments seemed to say the build quality was that much better. All in all, I got the price down to $715 with an Amazon giftcard deal for their Prime Credit card, and with my crappy bike that’s not worth fixing I figure I could get at the very least $100 from selling it with the expensive bike lock that Amazon accidentally shipped me twice. If not, I can absolutely get $90 for the bike lock and more or less get the cost of this purchase down to the G4 I initially ordered! This video was very helpful

What did you use to fix the flat tire (I got one)

I'm jealous. My motor crapped out on my after 150 miles when I needed it most. Kind of let down by it.

Mine has 800miles now. The only issue i have is the stem wobbles by the locking mechanism. Any idea?

Ok so mine I can’t see how many miles I’ve done,no mph only kmh and I’m thinking of going tubeless but I think I might feel every bump lol I live in NYC flat tires happen a lot.

I'm not sure how you had some of these things but man I never had an issue with mine at it was at 2th had a few issues with locking but that may or may not have been a user error. What area do you live in im in coosbay so we don't get snow and I'm not sure what other elements you have up/down there or you may have gotten a messed up scooter. I did have an issue with the charger my charger won't charg anymore

I have the G3 Plus and the battery is crapping out at 350 miles. $170 for a new battery. Buy the extended warranty through either walmart or amazon. GO Trax's warranty is terrible.

My g4 was stolen 2 weeks ago, it had 200 miles and was still working perfectly :(

So I really don't want you to take this the wing way. But being as you started out saying "all scooter reviews online are trash" so here's the rub on your issues. Flat tires are a normal part of vehicular travel with neumatic tires. Brakes on all small passenger vehicles need regular adjustments (bikes, scooters, ect.) The broken latch is user error by your own admission. You can't drop things and expect them not to break. The lack of adjustment to your stem is ignorance. There is a second grub screw on the latch side of the lock mechanism that actually adjusts the tension and requires no cardboard to make right. The one you adjusted is just the angle of the strike, not the tension. The screws you lost/stripped. Well screws rattling loose are normal on anything that vibrates and can't be torqued (blue locktite is your friend). And it seems common sense that you shouldn't be torquing anything that is only 4mm thick. So again ignorance. Considering most of what you pointed out after 1k miles was just regular maintenance. I would say you have a pretty darn good scooter. Oh, and nice job on the tool. Respect for anyone who crafts the things they need to get the job done. Don't over tighten!
