Real Madrid just won the Champions League, and considering his performances and goal contributions in the quarter final, semi final, and final, everybody and their dog seem to have already written off the 2024 Ballon d’Or as Vini’s award.
Does he deserve it? He probably does.
But will he win it? He probably won’t.

I’d say a football journalist is a football professional tbh. How would you define it? I think a journalist usually knows more than most players. The problem is finding people that are not biased in football

The worst thing is bias. There are idiots who vote for his friends only. Players like Modric or Ramos never left out Messi in the vote. But for example Suarez or Neymar always voted for only barcelona players (Neymar included Mbappe later on as well, I guess).

Vini had a lukewarm start last season? FYI he was injured twice and was out for more than 2 months during that period of time. He came back stronger than ever in the 2nd half of the season, outshining everybody else including Bellingham.

And the thing is Bellingham was the best player in the world at the start of the season but when the second half of the season came. Foden, Lautaro Martinez, Vini, Kane, and even Cole palmer has been better than him andit is the second half of the season when trophies are being won and that is when Vini turned up and becamt the best PLayer in the world. Do not forget he single handedly won the Spanish cup against Barca in the final with an iconic Hattrick. So it really should be Vini but i can really c it not being him

Well, the ballon d'Or actually is from August of the last year until July of the current year. Benzema won the Ballon d'Or 2022 regardless of any GREAT performance in Europe cup as well. He deserved it and it would be unfair if any other player just played good in Europe cup. Besides he didn't even played for France. Then, came the second Balloon d'Or (2023, Messi) in same timeframe which includes the world cup. So this means, Vini Jr is already the best player in the world (2024). Whatever happens in July this year will count to the next Balloon d'Or.

Vini is favorite right now. But i dont see the issue with him not winning it if Brazil underperforms and he plays bad, while the current 2nd-4th places at the moment, win the Euro with them being the star of their country. This just means that it doesn't matter what 2nd-4th place do in the Euro, if Brazil wins Copa America with Vini playing well, then he gets balon d'oro. It's in Vini's hands to get it. Even if England wins and Jude,who is currently 2nd, plays the best, Vini would still win as long as he gets that Copa America Trophy. That's the reward be gets for being the best player during the season so far. It's all up to him to get that Golden ⚽, while the others need Vini to play bad if they want to win. Seems fair to me.
