Amazingly my drill sergeants didn’t cuss, at least not to my recollection. It was the first time I heard the phrase “dog gone”, and the most I’ve heard it. Everything was dog gone. This was 2003, and a basic training for a combat job. So go figure.

He was was my drill sergeant over a year and a half ago. I remember one Sunday sitting on the ground against my locker (you weren't allowed on your bed during the day) and he crawled in our bay. We made eye contact, and he made a shushing gesture so I wouldn't call at ease, and preceded to crawl to the people sleeping in the corner and fuck them up.

@@jamesbeyerI was combat arms 19K. Did basic at Knox in 04. We were cussed like dogs on the reg. My battle buddy was called "cock for breath" right to his face during work formation one morning. We all laughed then had to do pushups.🤭 Good shit in the army.

@@T_81535 I just found out from another comment further down that my experience was unique to Fort Leonard Wood. Someone who went to Leonard Wood in ‘77 said they didn’t cuss or swear when he went. Love it or hate it, it is what it is 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@T_81535 also just learned from you that Knox is TRADOC installation. I had no idea that’s where tankers are born. I’ve been to Knox several times for TDY (never stationed there) just thought it was just for paper pushers since that’s where HRC is located. The things you learn in the comments.

It can't even take care of its own organization, it failed the most in recruitment quota, lowered its ASVAB score a few years back, etc. What a joke, and people make fun of the MARINE CORPS....nahhh, they should make fun of the ARMY.
