So the special plant as it's gotten older has gotten weaker and the oasis has shrunk to only the small area around it. The revived plant was corrupted by sand and was eating up the oasis as the sand does, but then eating a piece of sand-repelling plant fixed it, and it turned out to be a baby of the special plant and being young and strong was able to revive the whole area that the parent plant once covered.

@@bugayden2287 I saw people saying they didn't understand a single thing, and others specifically saying they did not understand why the revived plant was suddenly healed eating that plant when it had eaten other plants, and even more people saying they didn't get why the little tiny plant had so much more magic in it than the bigger one, so yeah I just summed it up for anyone scrolling the comments confused.

Ok so the story as I understand it is that the older generation is trying to maintain prosperity, but the way they did that is no longer effective. The new generation is trying to do something different because the old way isn’t working. The old generation doesn’t like this and scolds the younger generation that this is the way. When the new generation puts their plan into action, at first it seems to go horribly wrong in the eyes of the old generation, when in reality it is simply destroying what was built before to build something better. The older generation is to busy trying to save what cannot be saved instead of moving forward. The plan of the new generation only starts working when they realize they must also destroy the old plan. That’s why he fed the Groot monster thing the plants that keep out the dust. The plants that keep our the dust are part of the old oasis, the old flower, the old plan. To get something better he gives it up. Edit: It has been a year and I want to tell you all right now that this wasn’t a good theory. Upon review, I can’t see it doesn’t make sense at points and it’s not as profound as the wall of text suggests. My point is, please actually read it and come to your own conclusions. Do the thinking! You’ll enjoy it.

I would almost agree with that if the boy didn't nearly get his mother killed in the process. The issue isn't that he wanted to help, but the way he went about it. It's not like he actually had a plan. He didn't know what the sand plant did. He got lucky and relying on luck rather than planning ahead can be dangerous and risk other's lives.

Taylor Jasmine Both of these interpretations still seem too literal to me. Isn’t it rather that youth is reckless and children do destroy (everything from the carpet to your pelvic floor muscles) but if you carefully raise them, one day they surpass you and do things you couldn’t have imagined. That then is also your achievement as the parent. In other words, you carefully make a little garden for them, protecting them even against themselves, and then they go out to make the world into a garden. It’s probably easier to see this interpretation if you've moved furniture out of the way of a tantrum.

To me, I feel like this is a reference to desertification (when deserts grow unchecked due to sparse vegetation). The woman is clearly trying to preserve the forest and initially frowned upon the boy's use of the magic water. Sometimes, when it comes to environmental policies, people are hesitant to instigate anything new because they fear its repercussions, and in this the consequences take the form of the monstrous plant. Ultimately, the raging plant gave way to growth, symbolizing how at times it is necessary to endure some hardships and set-backs in order to move environmental policies forward (or anything for that matter).

The plant which was given magical serum in beginning, gave one of its leaf to evil plant, which made it consume the magical serum and become good plant I guess. Took me a while too

...it wasn't destruction, it was transmutation. kinda like me and sacred mushrooms, lls. the desert sands must've infected it, in it's greed/hunger it created a monster, then after being fed a plant that fought off the sand, it must've built an immunity to the fierceness of the desert's influence and became tolerant to outside influence thus reforestation. i found it interesting how the plant and the people seemed kindred, maybe the child and deserted plant were one in the same, hunger to be included and ignorant of how things were at first. The women hidden yet nurturing not realizing she needed the child, feeling somewhat suffocated by his curiosity. His empathy for the deserted plant dismissed and ended up being the saving grace of the oasis. just a theory though.

i’m not sure if i’m reading too much into this, but i thought it was showing the struggles of a single mother. despite the impending doom of vastness around them the mother tries her best to keep her son away from the dangers and the desert and tries to put on a brave face so he doesn’t worry. she plants the seeds symbolizing the establishment of responsibility and hardwork allowing her son to watch so that when the time comes he has learned enough to be successful on his own and persevere. the lessons she taught him eventually leading to their prosperity.

Les vieux systèmes ne sont pas forcément les meilleurs, et l'esprit contestataire de la nouvelle génération permet de remettre en question les systèmes existant. En prenant cela en compte on peut alors parfois arriver à un système plus efficace.

So basically, they could have never obtained progress by keeping to the old methods, the boy thought of a new solution and even though it had to dispose of the old magic plant which was already in such a bad state, the kid managed to plant a much stronger magic plant that extended the island much further. So the moral here is to not always stick with the same traditional methods, and that growth requires taking risks

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the story and the moral the kid accomplished greatness because he knew his mother was sad about what he did and it was all his fault and if the mother blamed all of him than he wouldn't have able to did what he did (morale of the story never trust anyone so quickly take your time to understand someone and trust them)- the plant

We all live in an oasis....... an oasis of...fear,stupidity,pessimism, And we have no courage to change it due to the fear of future....just like that's mother..and try get satisfied but always encountered by thought of getting out of it The story tells us.....a generation is here to brake the rule and take up the challenge and brink perfection in life

This film has some of my personal favorite colors and designs on the channel-- these characters are cute and feisty! *spoiler* I theorize that this desert used to be full of life like we see in the end, but it was dwindling and dying slowly. The girl's plant was tired and used up, but the boy's plant was new and full of potential.

Anyone else felt bad when the child threw the plant away? I understand it tried to literally ingest the one thing keeping the temple alive, but it seemed harmless by itself.

Yeah, it was kinda cute. It's like the little thing was trying to get the sand out of it and wanted the life giving plant to clean it out, but instead it went on a hungry rampage when the boy tossed it. It's good that the kid figured it out in the end, but I still felt sympathy for the little thing getting tossed.
