Man this is exactly on time 🥺🥺🥺 My father is so good to me! Today was the day i started to take on the independence stand point because I wasn’t being honest about my desires ! I was afraid I wouldn’t ever find a man who would love me with the sacrificial Love of Jesus christ from all the trauma of my past ones. I broke down, cried and prayed to my almighty father as you spoke and oh I feel so free. I can’t believe I didn’t give it to God ! About a month ago I swallowed my pride and admitted to God and some brothers in Christ that I am not spiritually mature enough for a Christ centered relationship with a Godly woman. Since then I can already tell God has been working in my life to help me be satisfied in Him and the longing to be married has gotten easier to bear. I am having an easier time trusting in God for my future. Right now there is a sister in Christ at my church that I am trying to become friends with. I don't know her that well yet but we are getting closer. I can't say I really know if I like her but she is the only sister in the church I have an interest in dating. My struggle is that I want to get to know her better and continue to be an encouragement to her while letting go of the hope that it could turn into something more one day.

Thank you for the update....i just ended a relationship the person was my BF i taught he was the one but religious beliefs and boundaries always caused arguments he said he was a Christian but im beginning to see he has a long way to go in his walk with YAHWEH hope he finds his path but YAHWEH is good and i know its for the best..

My first pattern was thinking I had to just take whatever came down the pike just Bcuz it wanted me. The most pushy person wound up “winning.” My next pattern was being highly wary and avoidant. I still caught a lot of abuse in my life tho regardless of it not being on any romantic level. After so much running away, I started running right into the lion’s mouth (players, users, narcissists). Now I think I’m FINALLY on the right path. Have been for awhile. Tho I already know this. I was raised by liars, so. Meh. It was all I knew and they told me this was somehow “truth.” The biggest pattern I had to break was lying to myself that my abusive parents loved me and that their abusive dysfunctional patterns and grooming of me was love. Particularly with my mother. And this is not just obvious typical abuse like with folks calling you ugly names and so on and accusing you of always “making them mad.” Etc. Tho my bio and step father had done plenty of that too. Some abusers are very sneaky and manipulative and only seek you out to stab you in the back. Secretly envious. It is tragic to wind up with a mother like this. And then find yourself falling for Judas type of men just like her. Gotta watch out for those Judases. I write all this Bcuz I already know that so many are rather like me. Cant really look at that scary monster under their beds. The fact that my own mother isn’t capable of loving me was the hardest thing to truly accept in my entire life. The biggest heartbreak of my life also. Imo a lot of our current issues have very much to do with our upbringing and keeping our messed up parents on some pedestal like that does us a real disservice. Def denial plays a huge role in these things. I say all of this on the off chance that someone who needs it will read it and be able to wake up and break their own sick familial cycle. I may find someone or I may remain single. But the thing I can NEVER afford to do again is get with anyone who secretly means me harm. And while the truth is awfully painful, it is still better than living a lie. And I’m ironically a lot happier now at least tho, and as single as they come. But I had to walk through hell first to get here. And if covid can die down, next step is my new church. I already know which one. Lol. Looking forward to my next far better adventures compared to my past. Not something I was always able to have hope for.

Let's remember that the Greek word "trauma" means "wound" so it can be nigh impossible to have a healthy relationship if we're bleeding from a past, painful one. Also, yes to the reality that we all need different kinds of relationships to prepare us for a spouse. People who only think of romance forget the structure of trust, respect and healthy communication which must secure it. Once you've mastered those levels you're far more ready for a lifelong partner.

Literally losing faith. Always men not meant for me sent my way to tempt me, I always faithfully say no. Why does God want me to be all alone?

Haven’t been on a date in 10 years?! Dang, I didn’t know I will be called out today. Pre Covid, my career required me to fly to multiple cities in each week so I could only get plugged in to church during Sunday service and my community group. But now, I’m still swamped with work - I guess I can retire a lot sooner I initially planned.
