Before you make any decisions that you'll regret, trust that God has a plan for you that goes beyond what a KZfaq channel can provide. It's much easier to turn away from someone you believe you love because they don't give you "peace" right away. However, I found Jesus and was throughly saved because God wouldn't allow my Christian wife-to-be to give up on me. So, what I'm saying is... God ALSO sends people to YOU to develop, refresh and improve YOUR life and YOUR own faith. So, please wait for the clarity you need before you toss your hands up and say... "this person doesn't give me the initial peace I need". They exist in your life for a reason, it's up to you to be brave enough to seek your truth with/from God. Hmmm I've learnt over time that God being in it or not isn't dependent on how easy or how hard the situation is. I've had tough time going through with what God wanted me to do many times, so that has taught me not to make decisions based on how easy or hard it is. I'm currently seeking God to know if the person I'm considering is the one for me or not. I'm really concerned about being equally yoked when it comes to theology. I belong to a Christian community that has a lot of strict rules and it's very uncommon to meet other believers outside my church with those same strict rules. So my strict rules (which I know aren't necessarily 'scriptural' per say but just boundaries created to ensure our safety) kind of look overboard to him and it's understandable since he doesn't attend my church hence him not getting the basis of those rules. So it's stressful explaining to him about these things and my church community don't actually support marrying from other churches so everyone is so scared that I'm considering marrying outside my church. It's stressful because they aren't making an effort to meet him and know him, and they are concluding that I'm mistaken and I'm in a haste. I really don't have the strength to bother about the matter anymore, I really feel like giving up and shutting out everyone (including him) for a while so I can breathe fresh air and just enjoy time with Jesus without thinking about the decision of who to marry. I'm also concerned as to why my church community is this closed off. I understand that we are all weary of false teachings and all, but it shouldn't make us shut out every other church and become so rigid. I think we have monopolized truth and believe we are the only ones who have a lot of things figured out. I can't even make close friendship with someone outside my church because it's not encouraged by my church. I feel so suffocated that beyond the marriage topic I'm starting to worry about segregation much more.

I feel like I can understand Kalee. It hurts me deeply that I cant just "feel the peace" about marrying the man I want to marry. it's difficult to want something so bad, yet know that the peace you should feel when it's right simply isn't there. I am praying in Jesus name for the strength to walk away, the strength to TRUST God with him, and I pray for you to be okay with the result that God is leading you towards. It is good to have community and accountability and I love that you commented. I felt God told me to separate from the man I was planning to marry, and women in my life said how separation doesn't mean just physical. Guard your heart, as the Bible says it can determine the course of your life. I love that you care about this guys heart, but also his feelings are not your responsibility. Give his heart to God, release him to Jesus and take the responsibility off so you can make a decision that is best for you without the guilt. Remember, Gods plans are not to harm us, but to prosper us. So I try to cling to this that if the man that seems fantastic and that would make an awesome spouse isn't the one God is giving me peace about, I need to take my understanding out of it and realize God has reason that maybe I cant see of why this isn't supposed to happen. Ansue in not gonna lie its been very tough for multiple reasons but I've had some hard uncomfortable conversations with him. Listen to the Lord. Don’t make the same mistakes I made. You will suffer greatly when you go against God’s advice and leading. Don’t learn the hard way, avoid it by just obeying God now. The longer you entertain the wrong thing the longer the right thing will take to come into your life.

@@jackieVanTine_ It's weird how you said this because I went to speak with an old pastor of mine and he said the same thing. I would like to hear what you think about if I were to stand firm in my faith well enough that perhaps the Lord could guide her in the right direction with my guidance?

I hear you. I'm in a similar situation. I DO NOT feel ready to let go of the man I'm dating. he too asked for some space shortly after reminding me he's not Christian. I too feel desperate to be with him and feel like I gave him my heart. Painful.

@@barbwireb7779 I can't or you believe I shouldn't? To say I can't means it would be an impossibility. I don't see what could stop me from getting married again? I don't know of any laws in the United States or in my jurisdiction against that. why is that? What about forgiveness and restoration? This feels like incredibly rigid harsh and cruel legalism.

I was in a bit of a similar situation, even convinced myself he was the one. We have to trust only Christ wholeheartedly for He literally knows and loves us more than anyone else ever can and He has a perfect good and Holy plan that will help us in our walk with Christ, He has a perfect good plan a plan to bring hope and a future and not to harm you. He knows what is best for you in His all knowing perfect timing. Trust and rest and rely

In Him who knew and loved us since before He made everything and wants us to come to Him wholeheartedly and lean on His understanding and not our own understandings for He knows best n the rig^
