One of the fitnahs (temptations) with which we are tested is the fitnah of women, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I have not left behind me any fitnah (temptation) more harmful to men than women.” There follow some of the methods by which we can avoid this temptation. We ask Allaah to set the affairs of the Muslims straight. I think the brothers blurred her out due to many reasons, for example: If the brothers are aware that Allaah is always watching and if he ponders the meanings of His names and attributes, such as the All-Knowing, the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, the Watchful, the Reckoner, the Preserver, the All-Encompassing. So this will develop fear of Allah in their heart. They might believe un-blurring her face and body will lead to a more greater evil. The gaze can generate bad thoughts in the heart, which then lead to ideas and then to desires, then to will and resolve, and then inevitably to doing haraam things. Think about the meaning of this verse which makes a connection between the first steps towards haraam and the end result. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts). That is purer for them. Verily, Allaah is All-Aware of what they do” [al-Noor 24:30] Ibn Katheer said: “This is a command from Allaah to His believing slaves, to lower their gaze and avoid looking at that which is forbidden to them so that they only look at that which they are permitted to look at. If it so happens that a person’s gaze accidentally falls upon something haraam, he should turn his gaze away from it quickly. It might lead to bad thoughts for the public viewers, which will pose a danger to the heart (if she was un-blurred)… If a person dwells on her and does not push them away, they will develop into an idea, then into will and resolve, then this will inevitably lead to haraam actions. I ask Allaah to help me, you and the Ummah to avoid temptation, both obvious and hidden. Praise be to Allaah the Lord of the Worlds.

السلام عليكم ورحمه الله. Disagree brother, it’s not extreme especially as 1) it protects everyone from the temptation of having to look at women, 2) the women aren’t even dressed according to Islamic hijab.

Eating and drinking standing up is permissible akhi. Al-Bukhaari (1637) and Muslim (2027) narrated that Ibn Mas’ood (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: I brought water to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from Zamzam and he drank whilst standing. Al-Bukhaari (5615) narrated from ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he drank whilst standing then he said: Some people say it is makrooh for one of you to drink whilst standing, but I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) doing what you have seen me do. Ahmad (797) narrated that ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib (may Allaah be pleased with him) drank whilst standing, and the people looked at him as if they objected to that. He said: “What are you looking at? If I drink whilst standing, I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) drink whilst standing, and if I drink sitting, I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) drink whilst sitting.” Ahmad Shaakir said in Tahqeeq al-Musnad: its isnaad is saheeh. Al-Tirmidhi (1881) narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “We used to eat at the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) whilst walking, and we used to drink whilst standing.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi. The scholars reconciled these hadeeth by stating that the forbidding mentioned here does not mean that it is haraam, rather it is to be understood as advice, and that it is better to drink whilst sitting. The ahaadeeth which describe the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) drinking whilst standing indicate that it is permissible to do that. Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said: There is no contradiction in these ahaadeeth, praise be to Allaah, and none of them are da’eef (weak). Rather they are all saheeh. The correct view is that the forbidding mentioned in them is to be understood as meaning that it is disliked. The fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) drank whilst standing indicates that it is permissible to do so. This is all that needs to be said on the matter. As for eating you will not find any hadith that the Prophet prohibited it. Yet some scholars say it's even worse than drinking standing up. So eating and drinking standing up is permissible and there is nothing wrong if you do it. You won't get a sin. However, it's better to sit down whilst eating or drinking as you will be rewarded for that. BarakAllaahuFeek

@9-11 is a Judeo PNAC inside job Initially drinking standing up was prohibited but there is another hadith that the Prophet drank standing up, which degraded it to makrooh (disliked). As for eating there is no hadith that says the Prophet ﷺ prohibited us from eating standing up, which the Scholars have said it's permissible to eat standing up too. The reason for this clarification is that the brother above said it was Prohibited (Haram) which isn't true.

@9-11 is a Judeo PNAC inside job You are not sinful if you eat and drink standing up. If you sit down that would be better, because then you will be following something that is Sunnah and if you follow the Sunnah Allah will reward you for it. Standing up while eating even doctors now say it's not healthily but the companions use to do it. The Prophet did it. Shows you that its flexible. Alhamdulilah Allah has made it easy for us.
