Pro Mission X sound neutral very detail BUT too boring for me. Suggest to change cable. Odin so far my favourite, the staging very 3D, Bassy warm neutral. Odin keeps itself sounding realistic and fun.

They are an amazing way to go broke. And btw, that's a Jerry Harvey IEM, not A&K.

Hey, I know I'm not Joshua but I've got all of those in hand, so I can give some feedback. 1. You can't use V-moda Boompro with M50x; those headphones have a special 2.5mm connector and the V-moda cable is 3.5mm, so it won't work. (there are some other boompro like cables for M50x and you can use one of those but the quality is worse), 2. Pad swapping with m50x is not advisable, most of them ruin the sound. (I tried like 5 different pads including sheepskin Brainwavz) You either stick with stock pads or get one that is almost exact same shape with the stock ones. 3. M50x in general is bad for gaming, it is one of the closest sounding headphones out there, no soundstage at all, everything is in your head. Altough as a general all-around headphone for monitoring they are good, you can't use them for gaming if you want soundstage/imaging. I'd get a Philips SHP9500 + boompro mic instead; cheaper, more comfortable, much better soundstage for gaming but open-back. (sound escapes the headphones and you don't get any isolation from ambient noise) If you need a closed back, just get the Cooler Master MH751, it's decent for what it is. Or the Hyperx Cloud Alpha, both are based on and using the drivers from a good headphone called Takstar Pro80 (so those are not a gimmicky gaming headphone). Includes decent mic. If you can live with a seperate mic and attached cable setup, I'd recommend DT770 PRO 80ohm + usb condenser mic. (this is the best budget setup for closed back gaming, music, mic quality) Hope this helps.

I already have a boom pro and it would be a great match for it...i saw however that you can do an easy mod to the m50x, removing the cable lock mechanism and using a 2.5 to 3.5mm barrel adapter to make it work. The dt770 seems to be a great choice indeed, it's a shame it doesnt have a 3.5mm jack and my boom pro would go to waste if i bought one :(

Christos Karagiannis I’m in Turkey by the way, Hello neighbour ✌🏻 You can get the 9500 from Aliexpress even with taxes, it’s a cheap option. Or import via amazon, since you’re in Euro zone. I really can’t recommend the M50x (even with mod), because of comfort and sound characteristics for gaming (its a great headphone for other use cases). I’ve been there believe me.

I have the A90/D90 DAC- this stack is truly meant to drive high end headphones, not IEM’s.

I have a Kinera Nanna and I can say the treble is amazing, both in timbre and frequency response on thouse electrets as you say. If you could give it a try, maybe you would be surprised, even if it's a different presentation than a real electrostatic.

It's always nice to know what the current state of technology is, regardless of price. The manufacturing costs are only a fraction of the retail price, so at some point (2 years max) someone will be able to make something similar for a lot less.
