Perseus goal was to bring back his love to life from the underworld. Instead, Kratos kills him. Now Perseus can be reunited with his love in Hades. In other words, Kratos is a true gentleman.

I love how kratos casually breaks each and every item perseus has. Its also worth mentioning that they were supposed to be unbreakable because they were gifts from zeus, athena, and hermes.

What makes this encounter even more awesome, is the fact that Perseus is voiced by the actor who played him in the original Clash of the Titans 😁

The fact that they got Harry Hamlin to voice him, and Kevin Sorbo to voice Hercules in 3 is such wonderfully awesome fan service.

If you think about it, Kratos reunited Perseus with the girl he loved so yeah there's that.

Kratos showed Perseus how to really fight with enchanted gear. Now he's hooked.

1:01 Has Perseus been living under a rock or is he just stupid? By this time in the story, Kratos had already killed multiple legendary creatures, 4 demigods, 5 primordials, 2 Titans, and 3 gods.

I’ve always loved how this is one of the few boss fights in the series in which Kratos’ opponent is clearly the underdog, and yet Perseus tries every trick he has to overcome him. Even though it’s borne of arrogance, there’s something oddly admirable about Perseus’ bravery to stand and fight when he’s clearly outmatched.

This is probably the only time in this series where I can say you were more op than your opponent. Perseus just lacks the brute force and muscle to take Kratos on and once his cloaking ability was taken away then it was a solid L for perseus.

Kratos had no idea at this time he battled and killed one of his many Half Brothers not that I would have mattered to him.

I love how Perseus is younger than Theseus, even though Perseus is supposedly an older legend.

I completed this game on Titan mode using the psvita. People say video games only rot your brain, but Kratos has taught me the true meaning of "where there's a will, there's a way" Along with other valuable messages besides vengeance, mutilation and anger.

For all of you wondering why he didn't just go through the pillars to escape, its cause the arena is too high where they are. He'd break his legs instantly or at worst fall to his death. Even after you beat him you have to use the chain to climb down. And about the chain, it was too high up so Perseus can't reach it or jump and grab it to lower himself.

I love how, in many cutscenes, the enemies just get pissed of by Kratos and end up fighting against him, while he doesn't even say a word

Haha, I'm pretty sure shouting 'I'm Over Here!!' Defeats the purpose of being invisible... Let alone splashing around in a pool. More to that, seeing as they got Harry Hamlin to voice him it sure is disturbing to see Perseus descend into madness like that.

Always thought Kratos cinematic attacks on Perseus were particularly vicious (that stiff as fuck chokeslam, cracking his skull against the wall, drowning him etc, really dark stuff), it's as though Perseus beautiful appearance seems to bring about even more wrath from Kratos, and listen to that agonised gurgle when he becomes impaled on the hook. David Jaffe was clearly in a bad mood when coming up with this scene!

The music, the graphics, the bosses, the amazing cutscenes plus a so damn well executed story It's one of the many reasons GoW II is my favorite GoW game

That opening scene is pure theatre. Fantastically acted. He was the only person in the series I felt bad for killing just from that performance alone. So good they don't even let Kratos interrupt it. Harry Hamlin just fucking nailed it.

as shitty as Perseus' fighting style might be, you gotta admit that this battle has one hell of amazing score. the soundtrack still pops in my head from time to time after all these years! amazing work by the team.

One of the most under-done boss fights in the series. I know it's only meant as a small cameo/homage, but I think Kratos fighting Perseus, also a son of zeus and from Clash of the Titans no less, could have been a far more impactful boss-fight.

Weird that Perseus's shield still has the Head of Medusa on it. I mean in the mythology, he does kill Medusa, but in the GOW series, it's actually Kratos who kills her.
