You can tell how important Gaia is to the titans. Even though she was partially responsible for Zeus destroying the Titans, they still held such respect for her.

Everyone here is confused about how Rhea and Kronos had kids. Keep in mind that there's a huge possibility that the Titans can shape-shift. In God of War 3 you kill Helios who's a Titan that sided with the Olympians and he appeared the same size as Rhea.

It is amazing how many times in Greek mythology the thing you do to try and stop what a prophecy says, in fact, causes it to happen. Kronos worried his kids would overthrow him? Eats them, thus causing them all to hate him so much they do overthrow him... the moral of the story is... if someone walks up to you claiming to know your future, quickly hit them in the face before they tell you.

Took me a moment to realize why Kronos didn't appear in a human-form like his wife: five of his children are still contained within that Titan belly of his, not dead, but alive and in their own massive forms. If Kronos shrunk down to Rhea's level, his kids would literally burst out of his belly.

Funny that the entire Island of Creation concept was made thanks to this one simple change from the mythos. In the original mythology, before Rea gave the stone to Cronos, she hid Zeus in an unknown location. Cronos soallowed the stone but after a while, he puked it out and saw it was fake. He searched for years for baby Zeus, but Rea had hidden him somewhere in neither land or sky. On top of a tree. ( Yea it's pretty stupid i know). When Cronos gave up, a friend of Rea took Zeus in the cave and left him there to be raised by Gaia. They created an entire island based on this one story. The developers for this game were legendary.

Coming back to this from the new god of war you can see that Zeus and Odin are very similar.They both wanted control, they did terrible things to get said control and they got all the credit from the actions of others.The only difference is that Zeus realized that it was all a vicious circle repeating itself over and over and actually tried to stop it.Man that’s some nice storytelling!

There are a few explanations for Rhea and Chronos. For one they're both Titans and Titans are more or less the Gods before the Olympian Gods. So its possible they can change their forms from Titan to human at will. Much like how Zeus and other Gods can. Another is that at least IMO the Olympian Gods were actually much bigger than what is shown in the game. If you look up the stone there is a real stone in Greece that is supposedly the same stone Chronos ate instead of Zeus. Its a pretty big stone and if that was meant to be a baby then a full grown God would be huge. Another possiblity is that its just a game based on myth and its meant to be fun. Who cares about the minor details. Plus the mythology can get weird. Zeus has been known to turn into animals and have sex with women. Hell I think even in the myth for Aphrodites birth is that she was born after Chronos castrated his own father or some shit.

Like Father Like Son :) Zeus took vengeance to the Titans and some of them were killed. Kratos took vengeance to the Gods and all of them died :) Although Zeus planned to kill Kratos, Kratos lived and Had Revenge :)
