There are two different ways to play God of War on PS5. On the one hand, we can download the game with the latest version and we will have an experience similar to PS4 Pro, where the only remarkable thing that differentiates it is that its 1080p mode maintains 60fps (on PS4 Pro it runs at an average of 40fps). The other option is, having the physical game, install it without updating. We will have a stable 4K / 60fps version as there is no patch limiting framerate or resolution here. However, there is a problem and that is that if you load your most recent saved games, the game is likely to crash. On the other hand, it should be mentioned that the PS5 version uses 4K checkerboard and, not least, it seems that it has certain problems with the drawing distance in some details, being lower than in PS4 Pro. In any case, if you have the game in physical format, feel free to play it in version 1.00 for the best experience (until a patch comes out that allows us to play at this quality in the latest version). La otra opción es, teniendo el juego físico, instalarlo sin actualizar. Tendremos una versión a 4K/60fps estables debido a que no hay ningún parche que limite el framerate ni la resolución aquí. Sin embargo, hay un problema y es que si cargáis vuestras partidas guardadas más recientes, es probable que el juego crashee. Por otro lado, hay que mencionar que la versión de PS5 usa checkerboard a 4K y, no menos importante, parece que tiene ciertos problemas con la distancia de dibujado en algunos detalles, siendo inferiores que en PS4 Pro. En cualquier caso, si tienes el juego en formato físico, no dudes en jugarlo en su versión 1.00 para la mejor experiencia (hasta que salga un parche que nos permita jugar a esta calidad en la última versión).

You can really tell a difference by playing it. I played it this evening on my ps5 & coming from an original ps4 the game play is soooo much smoother & it also seems like the lighting is more vivid & defined.

Ahora, con la versión de disco de cover ROJO llamada PlayStation Hits... ese viene con la 1.0 también? O ese disco tiene ya algún Update y no se puede?

Thanks for this! I was able to use PSX download helper and my PS4 to download version 1.00 and then transferred it over to my PS5. This works for those with Digital PS5 or no Disc for God of War just have to make sure to not allow the update to ever finish or you need to delete and transfer it over again. It also worked for AC Unity

Last week is when I decided to purchase this game, my friend kept saying how great it was. Honestly knew about God of War but never actually played a single game. Sad I know, but I watched every gameplay/cutscene of God of War 1-3 and was going to do the same with 4 so I could be a cheapskate…something about the opening…I had to buy it. It seemed wrong to watch someone else play this game. And I’ve been playing it every night before I fall asleep! Can’t believe I waited this long to play a God of War game, and can’t believe I was lucky enough to enjoy this experience for only $10

Because on mine I noticed when I play on 1080p60 it's shows as a 4k input in my TV, this happens with every PS4 game, even the ones that aren't PS4Pro enhanced and I can clearly notice the difference, it's not a native 4k image for sure but it's not as fuzzy as 1080p. Do you think they will launch a PS5 patch to 4k60?

it looks great on both consoles, keep in mind this is just a PS4 game ported over the PS5, once we see titles being made from the ground up it'll make quite a difference.

Creo que muchos se confunden con lo del 4k y el 1080p, pensando que se ve mejor el 4k, pero esto solo es cierto si tienes tv de más de unas 45", si no, no notaras la diferencia, que esté en 4k significa que se verá mejor en una pantalla más grande. Lo que importa en el juego son los efectos, las texturas,partículas etc.

También estaría buena una comparativa de Death Standing ya que es un juego con un muy buen apartado visual.

Brilliant video.. Like your content very much.. I have a question though.. Did you notice any bug or glitch in the game when playing it on the PS5 ver1.00? I have completed the game on PS4 Pro, but I'm now thinking of playing it again if I really could experience it all in 4K60 glory. I didn't enjoy at all playing it on my Pro even at 1080p because of the damn jet engine sound.

I played this for the first time the other day on my ps5.. Graphically it's good enough at 1080p but the boost in frame rate up to 60fps is incredible.. I don't think i will be upgrading my tv when 60fps looks this good.

The biggest value of the PS5 is for new adopters of the Playstation and it's fast load times. But to be honest, the graphics in the PS5 is not there yet. Still being optimized and yet to be taken advantage of. There are some games on the PS4 Pro that look much better depending on if the game was remastered for it and such. A good reference would be Spider-Man. Check out the videos online. There are points that the character design and lighting effects are better on the older PS 4 Pro. But if this is your first unit, I'd definitely say go for the PS 5. For existing PS4 Pro owners such as myself, I'd recommend to save your moolah until something substantial comes up or if special editions with free games / accessories come out. And of course in case of sales. Have a wonderful Christmas season everyone!
