One of my favourite hidden lore moments in the series, you first learn about Motsognir in your first side quest and you complete his story in your last. Kratos evolves and so does the narrative.

About Video Game Sophistry:
Video Game Sophistry is an opportunity to celebrate the creators and the artistry found in Video Games. I believe that Games are the most effective medium from experiencing another world, and another way to live. Expect to see a series of videos showcasing the narratives hidden in every game, interviews with game developers, along with our bench mark weekly podcast, Dialogue Wheel.
Andy Borkowski started this program nearly 10 years ago and, in that time, it has changed from a simple KZfaq show, to a radio show, a tv show and now once again a KZfaq destination. Welcome to VGS.

why? give an explanation to you statement
@shadowflame099
@shadowflame099 Жыл бұрын
To start with, the clues of which the Dwarf King led to the downfall of his kingdom. The various corpses of the people indicate something, but it wasn’t elaborated till much later. Upon reaching the throne room, Atreus noted he hears the cries and screams of a large crowd of people. Mimir notes it was old spirits left behind, though he comments it was ominous. You may never know what to expect if one could hear the wails of spirits.
@shadowflame099
@shadowflame099 Жыл бұрын
Now the ending of my explanation: once you follow the blood trail behind the throne room, you finally lay eyes to the Dwarf King, whom is now a corpse. The mystery is finally pieced together, but it is as unpleasant after finding the clues as to what happened during his tenure in life. According to the note left behind, Motsognir was a fool. Once Kratos grabs the three ingredients from the body, you can hear an ominous tone play three times (though you can hear it when finding very rare items).

Cause all three ingredients are...... tricky and more fitted to give to someone else. Dragon fury: capture the dragons and pissed them off greatly. Screams of the innocent: sacrifice a large amount of innocent people. Ultimate sacrifice: commit suicide for the legend. Even if freya were to acquire the armor; she can’t defend herself. Let alone wear it; knowing how much sacrifice is needed to even forge the armor. Kratos doesn’t mind; cause he’s already passed the point of morality. With the only concern being his family.
@jacobfreeman5444
@jacobfreeman5444 4 жыл бұрын
@@mvodinh Survival of one's own could be considered the basis of morality. Kratos has his head on straight. The deeds were already done. All he needed to do was collect the spoils and use it to give him the strength to guard what is left of his family. Now it would be different if he was the one performing the atrocities. But the land he now travels is mostly dead and by the hands of its own gods. Also the sacrifice didn't have to be one he made deliberately. He gave up his life, yes, but it is possible it wasn't intentional but rather a by product of his mad quest for the abstract concepts necessary to make the armor.

@@jacobfreeman5444 All of the 3 sacrifices Motsognir made can also be a reminder of Kratos' deeds in order to satisfy Ares under his servitude to him. It can be interpreted this way : The Dragon's Fury = The Blood of the Enemies/People who deserves to be killed Screams of the Innocent = The Blood of the Innocent/People who do not deserve to die The Ultimate Sacrifice = Sacrificing oneself/Sacrificing your most precious "belongings" in order to satisfy all of the conditions of the Legend

One question for you all. The runes at 2:13 that speak about " To Believe" or "Have Faith", are positioned on the walls and interlink with the rotating wooden pole. Or the runes are on just the rotating pole?

This was truly a great game. But I have one complaint. In the old god of war I had an idea of where the commoners existed. I felt as if they were still in the world someplace while Kratos was fighting the gods. But here in this new pantheon, I feel like it’s all abandoned. I have no sense of any society existing anywhere. It’s all just ruins and empty realms. There’s no evidence of any commoners living anywhere. Just abandoned ruins and a few remaining God’s few and far between. I wish they at least once or twice showed where the commoners lived. A bustling city Or even just some farmland where or common folk are.

Well, the canon explanation is that everyone left cause of the Draugrs but I know what you mean. They're remedying that in the next one though.

I wonder how long ago that was. With how bright the blood is and how he doesn’t look like he’s decayed for a long time, he must have died likely within 10 years prior to the start of the game

This made me see a connection. All chained up dragons in the game are connected to dwarfs. The ones that had something to do with the dwarf king, and Fafnir who used to be a dwarf.
