Man, there was a wild ride to be had just in figuring out the story. _"Mother contracted the illness in the spring and carried it with her until winter."_ Aw, cancer? Rocky start to any story. _"After she expelled it, you watched her cut it into pieces. She flushed it down."_ Oof, tapeworm? Good thing it's out. _"In the closet, you find a bent and rusty hanger."_ oh

the demon said that the mother asked him for a child, and he gave her violets which grew into a kid. I think he's the father. He may have left the mother with just the child, burdening her, that's why she went mad. Then, once the demon came back, he saw the situation, but instead of comforting the mother or doing something else, he left the child to fix the situation himself. orrrr idk maybe he's just some part of the child, the imaginary friend who helped him

Here's what I got from the story, somewhat: The mother was an alcoholic, and was neglectful to her children. The voice from the toilet was the character you play as's baby sister, who I assume the mother killed or something? After you kill the mother, and put her in the toilet to be with your baby sister, you think you'll join them soon? Which probably means you go to the attic god and ask to be with your sister and mother? I'm unsure.

@@nightdog4183 One way I interpreted it was as someone who took advantage of the mother--possibly by drugging her with the "violets" beforehand--since she "wanted a child." Could be that they had been there for both children, and so they had lived in the upstairs/attic and been friendly to the protagonist. To me, that's just one way that it made some sort of sense, though I'm not sure I explained it very well.

Played this the other week. Short but great execution and music/art style in general. And about the right amount of disturbing and lonely, maybe a bit much. If it were longer it could probably be paced better. Or have a few more endings aside from the secret one (more about that below). I like the protagonist’s long sweater and overall design though (same with other few characters). *spoilers ahead* Alcoholism and abuse issues in a lot of these stories I have mixed feelings on. It makes me sad but also I kind of block it out or not fully absorb it due to my own personal trauma, if that makes sense. The toilet scenes with the dead baby/child were really well done and the murder segment at the end while repetitive was unnerving but could possibly imagined by the protagonist. The ending itself is ambiguous. A lot of mixed emotions. I’ve tried to access the tumblr in the game’s notepad file using the secret death ending (from stepping on bottle glass) password multiple times but haven’t be able to for some reason.

Tragedy is the beating heart of drama. While we naturally don't wish to see tragedies, I feel they are still important in both expression and message. A story like this could never have been told in a happy way without the same strength. It shows the artistry behind it, the passion. It's a good thing it doesn't leave itself too vague and doesn't go on very long, it is a short one that gives enough details to piece together the story without keeping you in a low note for so long. I personally find it a very compelling very well made one-note story but I totally understand people who wouldn't agree and I believe that is valid.

Someone in the comments mentioned LISA, and I think it's an interesting comparison to make. Dark stories like this are hard for a lot of people to 'enjoy', but when they're done right - Like in the LISA series, in my opinion - they become such an emotional experience, you end up really FEELING for everything that's happening, whether you're 'enjoying' what's going on or not. I really liked this game because of that emotional experience. It's really dark and slowly figuring out what's going on definitely makes you feel a sense of dread and discomfort. I wouldn't say I enjoyed myself, but the game made me feel how it wanted me to feel, and therefor I think it's pretty good. I'd love to see what else this person makes, I feel like they have potential to create something really amazing someday.

_A cute happy game with 🐰bunnies and 🐤chicks_ The game presents a tragic conclusion to a tragic situation. I appreciated showing the perspective of a sibling who was probably too young to understand what they were seeing thru the crack in the door (and no, I won’t use the visual poetry style to show the word crack). Witnessing that, along with the mother’s obvious neglect, was enough to drive them over the edge of sanity. I’m not sure if the game worked for me, but I acknowledge the bravery of trying to bring this subject to a game format.

I wonder why toilets have so many horror stories about them
@kalezuki9231
@kalezuki9231 3 жыл бұрын
Think about what we do with these things and how we use them , what they were made for and how hard they can be to clean. Now add the ability to transport things to another dimension or talk or be possessed , ect. It can be comedic but also terrifying to think about. And then of course there is the possibility of finding things that shouldn't be there like a snake for example or having been tortured or bullied and getting a trauma / PTSD from that. Imagine accidentally dropping some thing valuable to you in there , especially if you just used it. Or some body dropping some thing of yours in a public toilet or being bullied this way at home ( shared toilet ) A lot of private / intimate things can easily lead to horror and these are arguably some the best ways or stories that lends well to horror.

@Amoe Moth I think you shouldn't do it this way. It not only could bother others, who have no influence on wherever or not he plays the game (I've seen people be annoyed with your comments from the responses you've gotten elsewhere), but it's also not very likely to be seen by him, if it's somewhere in a thread of other comments, rather than just on its own. Your way of wording it is also a little rude in my opinion, especially since you say you won't stop until he answers or plays it. It really comes off as a demand that he does or at least responds to you when he shouldn't have to do that. I know that seeing your comment so repetitively has made me subconciously not want him to play the game and you might have the same effect on others (rather than make them agree with you), since it comes off as really spam-y.

To enjoy something is not necessarily to be made happy by it. Maybe in a literal sense, but not colloquially. In most contexts, it seems that to enjoy something now means to be pleased emotionally - in this case by intrigue and Schadenfreude. To explore negative emotions is often interesting despite the sadness, fear or anger it might bring, which is why you can enjoy stories regardless of their subject matter.

For anyone who enjoyed this I'd definitely recommend his comic The Violet Child (I think it's on Tapas?) which is referenced in the game. He had another comic called And The Dim Streets They Walk which was also fantastic, although I'm not too sure if it's available online anymore :/ Super excited to see what he creates next!
