I learn something every time this man speaks, praise God!

Wow! This is all very new to me. No Jew ever called God "Father." Now I need to go back and read the Gospels again and pay special attention to the times Jesus call God "Father." I certainly had no idea this form of address would be so shocking to those who heard Jesus speak. How is it that I could study God's Word for so long and miss these things? Thank you again, RC. Thank you, Ligonier Ministries for continuing to publish Dr. Sproul's sermons and lectures. God continues to touch people's lives through Dr. Sproul's words.

I am thankful to have met and received a prayer of blessing from Mr. Sproul. In this text he says nowhere does a jewish man address God as Father - but Isaiah sure seemed to, Isaiah 63:16 -16 Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O Lord, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting.

One of the most important lessons for Christians. Believers (can only be chosen by God) are adopted by God into His family 🙂 God loved us before the creation of the heavens and the earth 🌎. He chose us to be His own before man was created. The names of the chosen were written in the book of life from the beginning.

How can the audience not respond to his questions? Amazing how much info he provides in such a short time. Love the historical context. Never heard of henotheism, or some of the beliefs of the Gnostics. Glad for creeds.

I wonder how he would dealt with the point that the Bible teaches that we are all descended from the same original couple, Adam and Eve and thus in that sense, we are all related, all brothers ?

Is there a study which uses the Nicene Creed's statement, I believe in one God the Father Almighty? I have read one theologian who reckons the term there is used of the Holy Trinity as a whole being Father to us, and so not limiting the one God to the Person of the Father. However, many modern Eastern Orthodox apologists argue that only the first Person, the Father, is the one God, and the Son and Spirit are not included in that designation. It seems to be making the Son and Spirit somehow not included in the confession of one God, and anti-Trinitarians use this to argue against the full divinity of the Son and the Holy Ghost (although of course they are called Lord in the creed, which also confesses the Son is of one substance with the Father). In short, are there grounds for saying that the first line of the Nicene Creed designates the Holy Trinity as the Father, before going on to use the term Father as it concerns the internal relations of the Godhead of three Persons?

The Bible clearly says that the Son of God....made all things ...and without him nothing... not one thing was made. So do I follow the apostles creed or the Bible?

"God the Father" God is also the Son and the Holy Spirit. And God's name IS Jesus in English. But in Hebrew it is "Yeshua". And that name is the 2nd Covenant's name. Because the Isaelites; dribbled down from 12 Tribes to one Tribe. And... Because they had Blasphemed the 1st name "YHWH", for 2,000 yrs. And Jesus destroyed the 1st Covenant and it's name. Now, that one Tribe is..."Judah"; where the Bablyonians; in 'circa 605 BC' short-cutted it to be "Jud's". And they used it like Americans used the "N" word becaue they hated them. Then it became "Jews" over time. The same way the "Negroids" changed their name to "Blacks" in America. And now, "African Americans". So Jesus is the name of the only true God. And He is "Omnipotent, Omniscience and Omnipresent". And... He was "manifested" into a "fleshly"being on this eart. Thus there was NO conception or real birth*. So the phrase: "Emaculate Conception: is a satan-led, Godless to cause the "RCC" to LIE! 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh (Jesus), justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. and... John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Yet to this day; MOST Christians believes, and espouses, that The Father is God; and Jesus is ONLY the Son. So they Pray ONLY to the Father instead of to Jesus who IS God. May Jesus have mercy for that Blaspheming "Abominable Sin"... ...In any case kind Sir, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN! * There can be NO conception; without both "Seed" from the male; and a "Fertelize" from the female. And this is why Mary HAD to be a virgin. Because: IF she had a normal conception; Jesus would have had "Sinful genes" of the Fathers (and mothers); to the 3rd and 4th generations! Exodus 34:7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generations.

@13:00 - At the end of 2022, I think it's somewhere closer to 80% of Americans believe in God. Now the God of the Bible? Idk. But from 99% to 95% to 80%.... yikes.

Everything that came after Yehoshua the teacher of what is called the Matthew gospel is of the false christ created after the gospel, after the good news preached in the gospel, that christ is false, a deception its name jesus and its cross never happened except in the man of sins lying epistles, the writings of Paul of tarsus and the rest of the ones who come in the name if jesus and not in the name of God alone as all true lost sheep will. We serve God alone not any christ! I know God, I walk in covenant with God and I Love God. I fear God as well and that is the beginning of Love because until you fear disobeying God and causing God to look upon you in shame so you feel horrible then you can not love Him. I started this walk when I was 32, to look for God. I started to actually begin to find God when I was 39 and sealed myself to God as the gospel tells us to, those of us who listen to the gospel teacher and not the ones who came after him, know to take up the commandments of God and to seek out our roots back to Abraham and to Moses and Yehoshua and the prophets so we become firm in knowledge of what GOD ALONE asked of us. It took me several years of fighting sin and the devil by obeying God. I fought the sin out of me with God's help, by his instructions in the written word. It is a very narrow road and as the mattan/Matthew gospel says very few will find it. We have to fight Satan and the whole world that serves him in sin in order to get out and the one who will help is God alone because we can't trust anyone else. I am with God, God provides for myself and my family and yes there is absolutely evidence BUT not until you absolutely come clean, in thought, word and deed, the absolute opposite of all the lying religions. The gospel was sent down to free us from sin by sending us to our teacher and if you reject it then you are freed from God into sin perpetually and to death spiritually from God which as I can now see is absolutely hell on earth, your light you pretend to have is absolutely darkness caused by your unwillingness to even try to obey God. I speak to 99% of the population. If you can't put everyone first after God and stop yourself from all sin THEN YOUR NOT WORTHY AND YOU ARE ALREADY FINISHED BEFORE YOU EVEN STARTED. So come out of all sun, take up the commandments and begin your battle, call to GOD ALONE, LEARN YOUR ROOTS, BE GOD'S PEOPLE. FIGHT SATAN WHO IS THE SINNERS INNER VOICE, THE CONSCIENCE THAT LEADS YOU TO HURT YOU, that's not you, it's Satan the deceiver. If you come to God and pass the trials cleansing yourself by obedience then GOD WILL BECOME YOUR CONSCIENCE AND YOU WILL LOVE GOD AND HATE SIN, SATAN WILL FLEE FROM YOU. SO there it is. Peace, the ball in in your court Be wary of this world, it is the valley of death, you need God's light and God doesn't dwell with sin or sinners. Not until they begin the journey to stop sin.

..well the Father as he is known in the trinity did not create the heaven and earth.. ..JESUS created the heaven and earth.........this man doesn't know that how can he be a teacher..

Had my father, heavenly or otherwise, been responsible for the murder of over 25 million people, the condoning of slavery, infanticide, the lowering of women to the level of livestock, massive theft, and multiple other evil things, I'm sure I would get as far away from him as possible. Further, I would never tolerate someone being tortured to death for my wrongdoings. That is repugnant.
