What are you guys talking about? The man was assaulted live on TV while at work by one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. He didn't sue or have Will arrested and is likely traumatized. Chris responded (at his time) which is what everyone in the world wanted and he nailed it! Godfrey is the only one on this panel who gets it and is 100% correct.

5:00 YES. I totally agree with the gay dude. He is spot-on correct. There is a difference between the shows that you do for your friends and the million-dollar shows. The expectations are definitely different too. I have no idea what Dante was talking about, Rock was simply showing us his versatility. He can hit that stage in a variety of different Acts. Just presenting one style and delivery doesn't invalidate the other either. Also Dante doesn't seem to understand, The Slap brought out that old Chris Rock and that is this emotional backstop.

Chris Rock wasn't as light and fun as he usually on that Netflix performance because of the heaviness of what he felt he had to share. He was reclaiming his masculinity out there and so he had to be harder than he usually is to do that. He was angry and hurt and that impacted the tone of his performance. It had to. Nothing wrong with that. Hope he can move on and return to his beautiful, wise and funny self. I would still sue Will Smith for the trauma and long lasting effects of that assault by Will Smith.
